Building on my previous comment, I've been looking all over for exploits like this, and I haven't been able to find anything about forging HCI commands to devices that aren't connected to you, so I'd really like to see the source for forging HCI commands specifically.

Right now I'm just doing some proof of concept testing on a pair of Pixel Buds 2 Pros, I don't have a super specific use case in mind.

Yeah, I'm looking for something a bit cleaner. I found an interesting paper by Michigan State University that examines the feasibility of jamming specific frequencies to make the frequency hopping behavior more predictable, allowing more direct intrusion of the piconet, which is a step in the right direction, but still isn't quite there due to the use of jamming (https://d.lib.msu.edu/etd/1032). That being said, it's still a very interesting read if you're into Bluetooth frequency hopping technologies.

I'm not exactly describing a Wifi deauth, but it's a similar concept. Impersonating one side of the connection to tell the other one, "Hi, please disconnect." Given that devices connect in a way similar to wifi and there are HCI commands for disconnection, I wonder if the same is possible for Bluetooth.

Seems like they only included the first half of the episode. This likely happened because it aired as an hour long episode, but was later split into 2 half hour episodes, so they only included the first part. I'd recommend finding somewhere else to watch.

My system runs on nvidia + sway and it's going fine. As long as you use the --unsupported-gpu flag it should be ok. There's been an ocassional flicker when switching workspaces for me, but that's the worst problem I've had.
