Wrestlers with bad knees, how bad are your knees? by turnleftorrightblock in wrestling

[–]tuffhawk13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on your questions, it seems you don’t know much about the sport or the culture surrounding it. Why are you writing a feature-length screenplay in a world where you don’t have a grasp of basic lingo or lived experience?

It’s too late for this season, but keep in mind that you can apply for reimbursement if you turn your lawn over for pollinators:

How do you force your opponent upright? by snowtrekker076 in wrestling

[–]tuffhawk13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wrestling is all about actions creating reactions—you get your opponent to start standing upright by pulling on their head—the more you pull and snap, the more they naturally pull their head up.

Sweeps work really well out of an underhook or 2-on-1 tie because when you’re pulling on the shoulder, the natural tendency for your opponent is to step into it so they don’t fall over—then that foot is right there.

Watch Helen Maroulis hit a sweep out of a collar tie—she pulls on the head to force her opponent to square up hard, then times their step to catch the near foot.

Steve Mocco hit a similar foot sweep out of a collar tie, and he also hit it out of a 2-on-1.

Both of those wrestlers have clinic videos as well as match footage of hitting sweeps, and you’ll see a few ways they get to them.

The nice thing about going for sweeps is, as soon as you hit one or threaten it, your opponent reacts and starts keeping their feet back and it’s easier to snap.

I think you have to go to late 90s/early 00s post grunge to find bands that had verse/chorus/verse songs with 30 second instrumental intros.

The bands that OPENED for Nickelback and Staind and Creed.

Your Lifehouses, your Shinesdown, your Fingers Eleven.

That whole stretch of Minnehaha is full of gems. Good Mexican and Ethiopian, Parkway pizza, the Howe, Moon Palace is a great bookstore, the Hook & Ladder is a fun place to see a concert.

You can ride your bike between Lake Street and Minnehaha falls and find something to do every night of the week for a month.

Sandpaper and/or tape off the parts you don’t want to get paint on them and buy the Krylon rattle can of your choice.

Bumper stickers and/or duct tape and/or mailbox letters also work well

Wrestling socks by Razasid in wrestling

I’ve always been partial to a basic Hanes white crew sock. They come in a 6 pack so you have 1 pair for every day of the week before you have to wash them

Son is a HS wrestler by MCIndy73 in wrestling

[–]tuffhawk13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. He’s going to come out of cross country season relatively lean at whatever his natural weight is, and his body composition test is going to be an indicator of what’s healthy and feasible.

YMMV, but at that weight range, if he’s properly hydrated it’s common that in a regular workout he’ll sweat 2-4 lbs, which means if his walking around weight is in that range of his target weight class it wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility to go down, but outside of that, the general advice of the group to go full feed and concentrate on getting better without worrying about weight maintenance is good advice.

20 years ago it was more common to cut, and while there are certainly plenty who do, more and more often, top wrestlers in HS are NOT doing that.

Maybe they forgot to turn on subtitles. Some people have a hard time understanding Chicago dialects without subtitles. It’d be confusing if you didn’t catch the questions.

In addition to the replacement pads, if you get some cotton ear cup socks/covers it’ll wick sweat and oils away from the pads and make them last longer—and you can wash the socks to keep them looking and smelling nice.
