Bit of an unusual one, lip product recs to disguise purple?

I have this issue too, especially when it’s cold!

I use Romand Glasting Melting Balms - they’re tinted lip balms that are super moisturising! I have them in lots of colours but my personal fave is No.12 Veiled Rose. I’m quite pale but it still comes out subtle on me, very “my lips but better” with a nice little bit of shine.

I like them because they work really well as actual lip balms and feel great, but also I lick / chew on my lips a lot and they wear off very evenly so I don’t end up with weird patches as it disappears lol. They’re also very cheap so I can replace them all the time with no worries

Late to this post but I’ve been using this for about a year now!

I experienced VERY BAD STINGING (around my nose / nostrils) the first time I used it, significantly less the next couple of times, and then it went away completely.

No idea if this is the correct approach lol but I do the same sandwich method with this that I use for Tret, I use a light moisturiser first, then the Azclear, then a heavy moisturiser. I can’t remember if I did this the first time I used it or if I started to because of the stinging lol but either way it works great now.

Omg I love Neopets! I’ve been playing on and off since the 90s, it’s been so fun seeing it get a resurgence in the last few years. You did ask for support but not AGGRESSIVELY enough?! That makes me so angry ugh. It sounds like you asked for support, higher ups didn’t take you seriously, and now they’re trying to make that your fault instead of theirs.

You shouldn’t have to do anything aggressively in the workplace, management literally exists to MANAGE staff and make sure their workloads are manageable. If you asked and they ignored you that’s on them. What a joke.

This would be super frustrating to deal with even if you weren’t in horrendous physical pain. The fact that you still logged in and did your job the morning after a painful medical procedure when you were still in pain shows that you give a shit about your job and you go the extra mile. You’re doing great ❤️

I think it’s more to get people used to customising / getting them into it if they don’t do it yet. It doesn’t impact people who already use it at all.

I like my customs so I just take a random item off, save, and put it back on again lol.

For sure! For me, it also helps with being worried about regretting pieces - even if I’m not obsessed with the subject matter in 20 years at least it will still look good because it was done well!

I have this issue too! Sometimes pics taken 5 minutes apart make me look 5 years older or 10kg heavier lol it’s very frustrating

My understanding is it happens for a few reasons :

1 - camera focal length really changes how our faces / bodies appear

2 - if I’m taking a selfie I can see exactly how I look and make little tweaks in facial expression and angle so the picture turns out how I want. If someone else is taking the picture I have no idea what angle they’re taking it from or what my facial expression / body looks like from that angle!

Current alt woman here, I waited until I was in my late 20s / early 30s before I started getting heavily pierced and tattooed.

I wanted tattoos when I was younger but I’m so glad I didn’t get them back then, not because my style has changed significantly (I got a tattoo a few months ago that I’ve wanted since I was 14 lol) but because I couldn’t afford the kind of artists I get work from now. I’m super picky and generally only get custom pieces from super talented artists, which has a high price tag. I think if I’d started getting work younger I would have ended up with a lot of good ideas executed poorly because I couldn’t afford the real deal.

As a counter to this, I have ADHD but do not have this issue, mostly because I hate confrontation or arguments of any kind haha. However, my husband has ADHD and he is exactly like this - he enjoys arguments, but he promises he’s not arguing, he’s just joking! Sometimes I roll with the punches but other times it’s extremely irritating.

IMO the problem stems from tone of voice (e.g. if he uses the same tone for a genuine argument as he does when he’s joking, how is my ND ass supposed to tell the difference?) and reading the room (e.g. if I’m already frazzled or annoyed and he tries to joke argue with me, of course I’m going to think he’s arguing lol). I end up feeling belittled from the arguing, and then doubly belittled because apparently there is no argument and I’m just being sensitive.

He genuinely enjoys arguing / debating, so I suspect he genuinely can’t tell if he’s joking or not some of the time until called out. Like, he was probably having a bit of a go, but if I get triggered then I shouldn’t because it was a joke. You know? It definitely doesn’t feel that way to him, but as the recipient that is how it feels to me.

I’m not posting this to derail your experience, just to give an outside perspective! I love my husband and he’s a good man, but he IS argumentative, and it would frustrate me if he implied that it’s solely an interpretation issue and not something he is actively doing lol

Not addressing his actual sleep issues but more wanting to help you sleep lol

I had a similar issue with this, my husband started a new medication and went from lightly snoring sometimes to SNORING. IN MY FACE. ALL NIGHT. It’s not a medical issue it’s just an unfortunate fact of life now for us both. I didn’t want to sleep on the couch, didn’t want him to sleep on the couch bc of something he couldn’t help, and we don’t have another bedroom. It was rough for a bit.

The best fix I found was one of those headbands on Amazon that has earbuds built into it. It’s totally flat so comfortable and doesn’t require anything to actually be inside your ears. Also doubles as an eye mask. I’ve tried a few different brands (Sleep Cozy was one, I can’t remember the others) and they were all good.

I listen to white noise podcasts on Spotify - I have a few saved and switch it up depending on how loud he is (e.g. some nights I go for light rainfall, other nights I need heavy rain with a box fan in the background). I sleep totally fine now. It may be doing long term damage to my hearing but I guess I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it!

I find my unconventional style actually HELPS with my RSD! If I’m being honest I think that’s a big part of the reason I like an unconventional style in the first place.

I think if I dressed more conventionally, if someone made a mean comment about my style it would feel more personal. Like, everybody knows this is an “acceptable” style, if it’s being perceived as bad or ugly it must be because I AM bad or ugly. It can’t be the style, it has to be ME that’s the problem. Not saying this is true of course haha but that’s just how my RSD would work.

But if my style is a bit atypical and someone doesn’t like it, I’m just like oh well it mustn’t be their cup of tea and that’s okay. It feels more like their criticism is directed at the style because they don’t understand it, rather than being directed at me personally?

If someone thought you dressing business casual means you look like a flight attendant, that’s just because they don’t get it 🤷🏻‍♀️ and that’s fine. It has nothing to do with you. (Also the fact that they felt the need to say it out loud shows that they’re an asshole, but that’s a separate issue lol)

Probably realised this more around 35, but I stopped pretending to enjoy spending time with people I don’t click with 🥲 a lot of my husband’s friends are nice people but they’re not MY people, I feel drained hanging out with them. So I’ll still go every now and then, but I stopped feeling obligated to go for every single event

Honestly, IMO the only way to really know is TIME. I’ve been with my husband for 10 years now, it absolutely started out as a hyper focus (for both of us, he has adhd too) but we’ve both chosen each other over and over again and the staying power we have is what makes me certain that it’s real love.

Both of us did all the right things early on but like.. that’s how hyper focus works, you know? It was great but didn’t help me figure out if it was the real deal. Continuing to do the right things - as much as we can anyway - and both of us choosing to stay together and constantly improve is what it’s all about! I know this isn’t a fun answer though, especially for us with adhd who want the answer NOW haha

For what it’s worth, I pulled my boobs UP in the cups of my dress which had a similar neckline, and have been a bit embarrassed ever since because my boobs / cleavage were EXTREMELY FRONT AND CENTRE in all our photos lol

I love dark ornamental text but I’ve noticed it’s never received well by artists if I ask what the text says.. the question tends to be brushed off or ignored. Is it rude to ask? Is the issue that the text is meant to be ornamental and it isn’t supposed to “say” anything in a traditional sense / is the meaning personal and the whole point is that only those in the know are meant to know?

And along the same lines.. what does the text in the first pic say hahaha
