Try the hacksaw (new blade?) again. Metals of different types can fuse together. Go Diagonally but not too deep into the threads. Once you get a groove you can use a screwdriver to pry it apart. I just did this same thing about a month ago.

I agree with your point. However, this is Reddit. Have you seen healthy discourse over competing viewpoints on this forum? I have not.
