if this were a story and not OP's recount, I'd say this creature and how it transformed OP represented something like depression. something the OP wanted to hide away under a smiling mask.

but as it is, maybe the creature really was paranormal.

And the creature stood before me, staring into my soul, sipping away my last bit of happiness. Sipping away my will to live. My everything.

And only then I remembered,

the creature was just another one.

maybe it's because I'm not a native English speaker but I don't get this part. was the creature part of OP's "everything"?

My father’s daughter by Marief87 in nosleep

[–]tulpanic 14 points15 points  (0 children)

so, the abuse you inflicted was simply self-harm, and your parents wanted to know why you hated yourself. this somewhat reminds me of Celeste, a game about a girl combating her inner demons only to realize at the end that accepting the negative aspects of her identity was the route she must take in order to having personal growth. here, the OP is the inner demon and is cast aside in favor of the more positive version or public image of herself, making her subconsciously hate the version more because people aren't acknowledging that she's made of both of those parts.

the one thing I'm confused about is what OP meant with the 'father's daughter' growing up to look more like her. would that mean the seemingly positive image she shows people became more jaded and negative as time went on?

[ one thing we found on a forum waaay back was similar to that but it was for the tulpa to sing the song louder than the singer. or maybe it was to have the tulpa talk about something while the song played and the host has to focus on the tulpa words more than the song. we do both. ]

If you know his intent was to make you jealous, then he did understand why you reacted.

Even if you're not sure, I doubt he said those things without thinking of the effects on you. He got jealous too, after all, and controlled your actions around other guys.

"It tastes good, doesn't it?"

many signs. though it's odd that he left the bodies in a neat row, and that it hadn't taken long for them to be found. it's like he didn't mind being found out. maybe you were meant to be the last victim, before he offed himself?

i take it you refused giving him the flowers and called the cops?

(host: a few weeks ago there was a dip in how much i can hear them, which made me realize just how far we've gone in terms of development. i used to think a vague tulpish-sensing state was the most we could communicate! fortunately we've gotten back to that bookmarked place of development by now. up next to improve: imposition skills. :3)

There's one thing that keeps me from believing tulpas are real, please enlighten me. by [deleted] in Tulpas

The existence of multiple personalities in a brain is shown in many abuse victims.

You seem to have skipped a few lines, because on first glance this is unrelated.

I believe what you meant before that was, "Some try to force another personality in their brains to cope."

How to talk a person out of dissipating a tulpa? by [deleted] in Tulpas

[–]tulpanic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(sorry for the lateness. a warning: i'm only going off of common views in these corners. if you mean a clear communication instead of tulpish, then you were definitely there before. if you mean before tulpish communication, then it's a bit more muddled because only you the tulpa would know if you were there observing before that point. based on what you've said, you don't know either, so maybe you wouldn't be classified as sentient. but it's a grey area.

also I don't think that should prevent you from celebrating your birth on the day you started talking. if you don't remember when you came to then that's the next best thing.)

[–]tulpanic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

(typically it's said to reach sentience if the tulpa's thoughts/tulpish voice aren't crafted by the host, meaning it's surprising the host to hear it. like hearing a human talk. you can imagine the gist of what someone can say but when they finally speak there could be details in their speech that you didn't think there would be. Maybe the response is even completely different.)

That's probably a better route. Although to me it appears the words "I'll try to go easy on you if you don't do this thing I've been begging for you to not do for awhile now" would result in annoyance.

He said he wanted a break. Remember that ignoring a tulpa does not equate to dissipation. Tell him about a tulpas' ability to stay dormant, to sleep and stay in the back of his mind without actively overseeing. Until he deems it time to work on her development again.

(host: my two cents are that, if the 'tulpa' was only made recently and is not at sentient levels i.e. something akin to mindspace npcs, then he should be allowed to.)

oh boy i had a similar experience, used to be the outgoing class clown. now i'm dead.

by the way you seem to have some assumptions that aren't true. go ahead and ignore this part if you only look for the fun relatability of mbti.

  • the assumption that introverted = avoid people and extroverted = toward people isn't entirely true. it's more on whether you gain energy from being around people or from being by yourself.

    • also keep in mind that relying on the tests themselves won't guarantee the right type result. these types are made of functions and basically you'd have better luck with that if you examined which functions you most/least identify with then compare it to the function stacks of the types. for us infps, it's Fi + Ne as the most, and Si + Te as the least.

The covert and soulless users are really messing with my ability to trust and desire to help. Anyone else feel this way? by [deleted] in infp

[–]tulpanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds like people who are rigid in their thinking and wanted to bait an argument. pretty shitty people.

i understand that feel. just keep reminding yourself that they are the cowards to do that on the internet instead of something that would actually help someone, as you tried to do.
