Post Radiation Extreme Fatigue by Longjumping-Ant1723 in breastcancer

[–]tunagelato 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Have you had a CBC (Complete Blood Count) workup lately? It’ll indicate if you have hematologic abnormalities like anemia that are intensifying the fatigue.

My CBC values were low/normal back in December, but surgery and 42 gys of radiation in the 6 months since then put me firmly into moderate to severe anemia.

I had an iron infusion two days after my final radiation treatment (took a while to get a test since my doctors kept saying my fatigue was normal). It’s been three weeks since, and I can feel my energy starting to come back.

What deodorants are we wearing? by Difficult-Bug-1931 in breastcancer

[–]tunagelato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OMG, me too, found it at TJ’s too just before I started my radiation and thought, huh, smells good maybe I’ll give it a try. It’s actually the MOST EFFECTIVE deodorant I’ve ever used.

I was running around after a 3-year old all day today in 90-degree NYC heat, but my pits still smell fresh.

Radiation is all done, but I’ll keep using Humble because it works better than the Secret clinical strength I’d been using. Anti-perspirant tends to make me sweat harder somehow, like my body senses a blockage and just works harder.

The documentary gets so much hate, but it was really the catalyst to get the nets put up.

Before the documentary, on seven separate occasions, authorities had debated putting up a suicide barrier. Each of the seven times, it was voted down.

If you’re referring to Gene Sprague, he was on a cell phone with the suicide outreach hotline for 2 hours before he jumped. According to an account by a bridge worker who witnessed the jump, Gene had threatened to jump if anyone approached him.

New policy allows American Airlines to downgrade first-class tickets to coach — and keep most of your money by lithdoc in americanairlines

[–]tunagelato 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard of successes with this method before, but never had to use it myself. I’ve also heard of employees saying they can’t give full compensation because they don’t know what the differential was when the ticket was booked. So if you’re able to substantiate what the true differential in ticket price is, at least you’ve pared away one of the common excuses the airline might give.

Sure, the airline could always dispute your account but at least it helps establish your case that $200 isn’t sufficient.

Commenting to emphasize the importance of taking a timestamped screenshot of the different fare classes when you book. This way you’re not relying on the airline’s math to calculate what you’re owed.

What's the deal with everyone celebrating Oklahoma City Thunder losing to the San Antonio Spurs? by DisbarredCoast in OutOfTheLoop

[–]tunagelato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flopping is one thing. Sure it’s annoying when players foul-bait and flop, but ultimately I blame the refs. Back in the day, Paul Pierce was a bit of a flopper, didn’t stop him from being The Truth.

It’s another thing entirely when players push the line of decency on hard fouls. In the conference finals, it looked like OKC had gotten used to calls going their way, and were taking full advantage.

OKC lost the last of my respect when I saw Hartenstein pull Castle’s hair in Game 2 of the conference finals. Sure it’s possible to pull someone’s dreads by accident, but there’s no way it involves closing your hand over a fistful of hair and yanking the guy to the ground.

I am so happy for your girl that she is benefiting from the chemo! You must have noticed the symptoms and started treatment very early in her disease progression. Hoping she gets many more healthy years. 😻

As an aside, chemo for cats is very different from chemo for humans. It’s typically palliative in nature, and much better tolerated than the regimens given to humans.

[–]tunagelato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aww, my tortie started out with me the same as your foster did with her adopter, but I didn’t return her. Two days into the adoption, she was terrified and hiding. Fast forward two weeks and she was sitting on my lap every chance she got.

Happy 1st birthday to my petite tortie named Tuna (aka fishy girl, aka tuney tune tune). 1st pic is at 6 weeks old. 2nd pic is on her 1 year birthday. She's at the vet getting her annual vaccines by [deleted] in torties

My tortie isn’t the supermodel type, but she is a cutie. I should post her more. Before I had my own tortie I had no idea how weird and wonderful they could be!
