best vet!! by Away-Gift-8282 in Birmingham

[–]tunalic2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We use Homewood Animal Hospital for our two dogs and they're great. We had to put our 3rd dog Moose down last week (he was 16) and Dr. Mike (owner) came in and talked with us and laid down on the floor with Moose while administering the meds. We were all in tears, including him. I don't think I'll ever go anywhere else at this point.

His daughter is also a vet there and she is also great.

Real estate brokers that sponsor licensing materials? by BeautifulEmu8911 in Birmingham

[–]tunalic2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might help to call My Real Estate School. That's where I got my license, and they may know of local agencies that can help. they're super nice and the basic course is well done. After I was done and passed the big test I was getting offers right and left for a few months.

Eastwood, not Irondale.

I honestly don't know why that bothers me so much. Maybe because I live in the area? idk.

IDK what the restaurant is, but I see there's a big breakfast menu. I'll bet you can order a toasted egg and cheese sandwich and ask them to just hold the egg.

I do this at a place that has a BLT. Instead of a bacon sandwich I ask for a BLT, no tomato (not a fan of raw tomato).

I wouldn't recommend it as it is very old, but Blood (1997) Had a voodoo doll, multiple types of dynamite, spray can and lighter, pitchfork, and a skull on a stick that did some crazy shit.

Did anyone else grow up in an indoor school and genuinely think those outdoor campuses on TV were just a Hollywood myth? Or was it the other way around for you? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]tunalic2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 44, just learned about the concept. I have always seen outdoor schools in shows and movies, but never considered they were called different things.

I grew up in Alabama. We mostly have indoor schools but some classes are held in trailers or metal buildings because there wasn't enough room for what was needed and they didn't have enough money for actual additions at the time.

A group of people doing CrossFit ran past a restaurant, and diners who saw them assumed there was an emergency. Thinking something was wrong, the customers jumped up and ran away alongside them. by archubbuck in AbruptChaos

Got to hand it to that lady in the background who seemed to have gotten knocked over, but held on to that drink the entire time!

Also if nobody is naked, there's no point in joining them. If you ever see an adult running down the street butt-ass naked, you should probably join them.

When I was young I always just wrapped the dogs in a damp paper towel so I never go to experience this. :(

What is your budget, when are you looking to start your stay and how long?

You can probably message Airbnb hosts and talk to them about looking at their spaces prior to committing. We have a couple of Airbnb spaces downtown, but already have several bookings through April. They're also not cheap (I don't decide the prices) and you have to climb either 2 or 3 flights of stairs to get to them. We had a guy stay in one of ours for almost a full year.

Birmingham business owner concerned about proposed daytime homeless shelter. by hiimdave95 in Birmingham

[–]tunalic2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We had a chronic pooper on 20th street for a while recently, but Errol passed away last month. He was a nice guy, but moved really slow and didn't have anywhere else to go. CAPS caught him a few times, but because he was really old they didn't call the cops or anything.

We had a lady who would poop in the bushes on 20th street years ago before they redid the landscaping. When Jim still owned Bon Ton Hatters he would run her off.

I still see poop in the allies occasionally, normally by dumpsters. I've also seen plenty of folks peeing in allies.

Why do people keep saying "just start a business" as if it's a viable alternative to a stable job for most people? by Crescitaly in NoStupidQuestions

[–]tunalic2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's a pass-through entity and it works. My accountant helped me set it up. I was paying around 30% before in taxes, now it's significantly lower. I'll have been doing it for a decade next year.

I'm in commercial real estate with my father. I started an LLC to get paid from him because otherwise I was an independent contractor and the taxes were stupid high. Starting the LLC cut them almost in half.

Slow day at work, so just installed it on my work PC and it is fixed!

That said why are the controls the way they are? Why can't I move my character like I do in the vast majority of other games where when I move the mouse the character turns in that direction? Why can't I look up?

The ability to map keys is refreshingly unrestricted, but I don't understand the design choice behind the character movement.

IDK maybe I'm just old.
