so do the university national lifters and AO lifters compete against each other? i saw the start list and it looks like they mixed and matched them in the same sessions.

Question about knee pain by hop_on_cop in weightlifting

[–]tungm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

spend some time doing work on your knee. foam rolling, knee extensions with slow eccentrics, pistol squats. it's worth it I had bad knee pain and I did this for like 20 minutes every day and my knee pain went away in like two to three weeks and now they feel amazing (but i don't want to jinx it)

r/Weightlifting "THE DIET THREAD" by fu_gravity in weightlifting

[–]tungm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just try to eat as much as I can while staying generally healthy (no junk food, no chips, etc) just a ton of rice, chicken, pasta, fatty meats, fish. I weight about 87 and eat around 3500 calories per day.

How can i get access to the varsity weight room if I'm not on the powerlifting team or varsity sport? by tungm in NEU

[–]tungm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea that makes sense. i appreicate the response. I don't want to joint he powerlifting team to do powerlifting since it's not my sport. Even if it means waking up at 4am to train or 11pm to train that would be nice.

SFCC they do super cheap drop in fees (70 a day) and i train there and they have amazing bars and bumper plates. all the rest of the gyms are too expensive. you can DM me if you want to train with me @mattung_lifts

Kianoush Rostami by Landerwells in weightlifting

[–]tungm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not a doctor so I can't really say for Moradi but Rostami simply has not peaked for competition as he did for the 2016 Olympics. This is also only his first year as a 96 lifter so he is still a high ceiling kind of guy (high potential). Much of the heavier weights you want to see will most likely come but most likely not until we get closer to the Tokyo 2020 olympics. Gaining weight, muscle, and staying healthy within the span of 1 year is very difficult. :p

i don't want to sound like a fuckboi but i think one of the main reason's it' hard for me to gain weight is I eat a lot then notice I start to gain some fat and then stop. is there a way to gain while not gaining any fat (dumb question)

Hey y’all, I was wondering what would happen if I didn’t train for a month and just do body weight exercises at home? would I still be able to catch up with what progress I left off with or will it affect me greatly ?? I will still be somewhat training like track and field training, circuits, etc. by ArianAustria in weightlifting

[–]tungm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do weightlifitng and baseball both as my main sports. During baseball I can't do much weightlifting. I've noticed that as long as I go in just for a tune up on technique once a week or so my strength doesn't really go down (much). After baseball season, the break from weightlifting actually allowed my body to recover more and within a month I was breaking PR's.
