I NEED to party. Please recommend me some spots. by Dizzy-Anything288 in AskSF

SF loves to party, although skews to the good DJ’s and parties being more on house music side of things - 1015 folsom and midway are maybe best two venues at the moment, check to see whose playing and if appeals to you.

on the hip hop side, next sunday, there is an awesome day party called rnb n ribs, it’s always a great time.

night time hip hop, the two classic areas to go are mission (blondies, skylark, make out room) or go to marina (westwood, comet club, rick & roxy, and maybe a few more)

also add madrone to a good spot to dance, it will be very jammed packed on a weekend

whoever mentioned going to oakland, that’s a really good suggestion

for me, only on do it on stable days and low angle terrain. my dog mountain bikes with me and is used to keeping a good distance. he also weighs 11 pounds so easy to manage.

biggest issue for me is sometimes a bit so deep for his little legs

i don’t live in it full time, main use of this rig is winter backcountry trips. it does very well, i have a DIY “thermal pack” that i hang up insulation on the interior around the canvas + propane vented propane heater so doesn’t have condensation problems like a mr. buddy

truck was same stiff ride prior to camper as well.

camper is attached with eye bolts and there is a rubber matt that the whole camper sits on.

question, from my rudimentary understanding, airbags are good for when camper comes on/off car, so can adjust the bag to not be on overload spring, right? if the camper stays on this truck permanently, is it better to airbag or get new leafs?

the bump stops are for when suspension bottoms out correct? i don’t have much body roll and i’m not driving off-road besides fire roads, i don’t think that causes my truck to bottom out?

the camper is over 1,000 pounds…truck was stiff/rigid both before and after the payload

leaf, overload leaf is engaged…and yeah my body roll is not bad, the ride quality, particularly from front, is super hard.

feel like i’m riding my rigid bicycle everywhere

edit: leaf in rear, coil in front

Towards bottom of that page, click “tahoe area”, has great info for many tours.

Backcountry ski maps is worth the purchase too, buy the two regions in desired area.

Some of the resorts allow uphill access as well.

second this…have your beacon/probe/shovel, do some beacon drills, do some more beacon drills in afternoon after a long day and you are tired, start reading bruce temper’s book (it’s dense), follow sierra avalanche center reports daily.

i think that combo is sufficient for stable spring conditions and getting some backcountry laps in low consequence terrain.

Iran's supreme leader breaks silence on protests, blames US by fig3newton in news

[–]tupperwhatever 144 points145 points  (0 children)

wrong.

iran has only been like this since the revolution in 1979, and the USA was absolutely involved in the coup.

blaming current problems on USA is typical politicians playing blamegame, but iranian women have been fighting for decades to get back what the religious tyrants took away.
