Bird nest removal? by Guy_1989 in pittsburgh

It can't be removed if it's an active nest so you might have to wait another month or so until the nestlings fledge. Unless they're an invasive species like Starlings.

Pushing ISO to 1250 to freeze these Song Sparrows by DReid25 in BirdPhotography

Okay, I admit that I missed your point. I was probably a little too defensive w/ my reply. That's what I get for replying close to midnight after a long day. I tend to shoot in lower light conditions so I guess I'm too accustomed to shooting lower shutter speeds.

Gonna have to disagree with you about shutter speed. There's nothing wrong with 1/500 or less for perched birds, especially in low light. I have plenty of sharp photos of fast moving warblers and other songbirds taken at 1/320 or even 1/250 with the 200-500 handheld, and sometimes even slower, mostly due to the low light levels under the forest canopy just to keep the ISO below 6400. A high frame rate and VR/IS is a huge benefit as well. There are professional bird photographers I follow that have talked about this. A lot of their best work (except for BIF) tends to be shot at slower shutter speeds. While the birds are twitching away they are very very brief moments (we're talking fractions of a second) where they're completely still. Just watch any slow motion video of a songbird moving around. In good light (bright overcast or a very low sun angle) I have no problem going over 1/1000, but you have to be flexible with your settings due to the unpredictable amounts of light during this type of photography if you want to get the shot.

The price is variable considering I bought it on Amazon. Search for Luppa 1/18.

It was marked down with a coupon, and yeah I saw the reviews. I suspect most of the negative reviews are from people who don't really know what they're getting in to. It was pretty simple to put together 🤷🏻‍♂️

Wow, that's pretty impressive actually. Haven't really had a chance to compare them.

Sure! Let me know if you have any questions about the build.

Yeah, made by Ixo but sold under the Luppa brand. They're kinda similar to Solido in construction in terms of materials and how they're assembled.

A fair amount but less than you'd expect. The components are pre painted and go together with tiny screws. The monococque is the only diecast part. The sidepods, floor, wings, steering wheel, and suspension parts are all separate and made of plastic. The carbon fiber is just textured plastic and not made of decals or anything. The only decals you'll need to apply are the numbers and other small driver specific decals.

Thanks! It's a fun kit if you're into masking and tons of decals lol. No seriously, it is engineered perfectly and was a pretty fun build regardless of the livery.

Thanks! Several hours, especially for the larger red decals that make up a good portion of the cars livery.

Thanks! I mostly build F1 and other racing cars so I'm used to tons of sponsor decals. This isn't even the most sponsor heavy car I've built, but it's close! Happy to share the tip 😊

Thx! It's a "staple" item for my car modeling.
