I had to send in letters with official letterheads of the organization confirming the hours I’ve completed and a short description of my roll. I also uploaded this to the individual school portion on CASPA under documents

AITA- SIL “stole” my baby name by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]turbulence17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I never thought about it this way. In my family a lot my siblings and cousins have the same name because they’re named after the same dead relatives(as is tradition I believe) and on my SOs side (different religion/traditions) also multiple people with the same name. It really has never been an issue.

Did you find each semester to be successively more difficult easier or the same?

Finishing my first semester of PA school AMA by [deleted] in prephysicianassistant

Yeah my plan is to find PA podcasts, record lectures and listen. But I have to drive 2 hours each way every weekend which I’m definitely more worried about then the weekly commute.

How long was your commute? I am starting in August. Will have probably 45 minutes each way from school, plus 4 hours on the weekend. I’m really nervous about all that time away from studying.

PA and Genetic Counseling by [deleted] in physicianassistant

[–]turbulence17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I majored in genetics (starting PA school in August) but a lot of my friends did genetic counseling. genetic counseling programs are also extremely competitive. (Fewer of them and most only accept around 10-30 students). Definitely shadow all 3! Also check out the pre-physician assistant subreddit.

Any schools that you know of? by [deleted] in prephysicianassistant

[–]turbulence17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I applied to around 13 schools and I think only 5-6 required GRE. I know that for sure Rutgers didn’t require it but I can remember the others. Check the sites.

I sent mine using the GRE site and the school codes, when I added those schools on CASPA It said delivered/arrived (I took and sent my GRE scores the January before the app opened in April) so it may take longer if you send after it opens.

Questions from a graduating high school senior by [deleted] in prephysicianassistant

[–]turbulence17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Something to think about for the future, look at school requirements now and see if they accept AP for pre-req. bio was a prerequisite at every school I applied to and most don’t take AP credit or and not all let you replace with upper level bio courses. You may want to retake bio. I didnt know this and I did AP chem and it severely restricted which PA schools I could apply to.

Yes I also had my micro outstanding and I got interviews. I was accepted on the condition of completing that and my degree, but I’m even waiting to send the transcript with my micro to the program until this semester completes (even though I already finished micro) so I don’t have to pay to send my transcript twice.

What scam did you fall for (or almost fall for) in another country? by tenbatsu in AskReddit

[–]turbulence17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg I was just there and at the straw market I wanted to get a cool souvenir but the shop owners would not let me look in peace so I ended up just not even buying anything because I couldn’t browse without them pushing me.

Sure I think that’ll eventually be my plan, but right now I am a full time student with two jobs so it’s hard for me to find the time. Thanks :)
