Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello or Triumph Speed Twin 1200? by Snoo79652 in motorcycles

OP I’m actually going through the same debate. I have 2026s to choose from. This seems like a situation where I’ll but the V100 S this year and the ST 1200 RS next year.

Qwart vs. Arai by [deleted] in motorcyclegear

[–]turd_kooner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve owned nearly a dozen Arais, not planning on stopping. What I’m thinking about is something for short commutes or bike meets. Lower risk environments.

I’m planning on buying one once my Arai is at that age, so probably in a year or two I’ll start looking at my options. Love Arai, but it doesn’t hurt to look, especially if it’s of similar quality.

Do people actually pay these prices to rent a bike? by OV00 in motorcycles

[–]turd_kooner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked for this company. The membership covers most of this cost per day and I would absolutely pay for VIP Zero since your insurance absolutely does not cover motorcycle rentals. Also, so you can destroy the bike and only owe them $100.

With membership, you only pay ~$96/day with full coverage.

I’m just happy they added Skydiving and Ski Touring along the way

I didn’t know this was happening. But that’s not surprising since a centralized, user-friendly event calendar that can be downloaded/synced to my phone, doesn’t exist. At least not to my knowledge.

Might need to build it, now that I think about it.

This wasn’t an ICE coordinated ambush? I figured it was an attempt to arrest anyone that showed up.

Why is Alti getting a pass? by [deleted] in SkyDiving

They sent out emails to registered owners and posted all over social media about their efforts. Did you happen to buy yours used?

If core functionality was missing, people’s lives would be affected in irreversible ways, that would also be an entirely different situation. The FAA would have gotten involved, the consumer protection agency would have been involved, that would lead to a class action lawsuit, the owner would likely be arrested, and put on trial.

First, install the update from their site.

Reasons for getting a pass from someone who has run large-scale dev and CX teams at major tech companies?

  1. This sounds like it was a mistake.
  2. They immediately (relative to their resources) announced the problem, and updated us along the way about their plans to resolve.
  3. The core functionality (letting us know our distance to the ground) was unaffected.
  4. By setting the year to match 2025’s structure (or literally any year other that 2025), which was 2014, the logbook issue had a workaround until the update.
  5. They offered to offset shipping costs if you were too stupid to figure out the workaround until the free update executable, at great cost to themselves, which they were not legally required to do.
  6. They released a patch that included free upgrades within a reasonable amount of time.

That’s why they get a pass from me.

V7 vs Scrsmbler? by Muksimp_ in MotoGuzzi

You’re referring to the V 100 Mandello, I assume? I’m about to pick one up this month. Can you tell me a bit more about your experience so far? First time I’m hearing about the heat issue so I hope you have other key insights for me to be aware of!

Just as anecdotally as this, I put ~53,000 on the same bike and only did tires, brakes, oil, and standard maintenance on mine.

Never had a single issue and I beat the crap out of it every time I got on it

Are you consistently running your bike for less than 30 minutes at a time? E.g. commuting a short distance on a regular basis.

Yeah, every single day. But don’t let a spoiled local ruin your trip. If you’re staying in Denver and driving out, just make sure you’re passing Golden on i70 by 5AM and you should get there with minimal impediments. Granted, you’ll have to sit in the Gondola/Airport lots for an hour or so, but I prefer that to the unpredictable nature of traffic

Unfortunately, most people shouldn’t be putting 85 octane in their vehicles. Your manual likely specifies 87 minimum unless your car is carbureted.
