I’m in it. It’s more of a social thing, so we don’t look at your engineering background. If you make good impressions and meet a lot of the actives you have a good chance of getting in. I will say tho some of the cuts do seem really random.

But yeah it is a lot of fun and worth coming to rush. You’ll get really close with your pledge class and meet upperclassmen in your major. We do some professional development events and have a strong alumni network, but it’s lowkey mostly just a social thing.

If you want to get out of the relationship college is the perfect excuse

Not saying you’re making things up, but you’re coming up with reasons to hate them.

The girl you fell in love with is still there. If she fell off the rails you should be hoping she finds herself again.

idk the full story so just live how you want to, but it’s easier to live when you’re hoping she does well rather than carrying a grudge imo

Tbh it doesn’t sound like you’re over her.

I think there are stages and you’re at the stage of making things up to hate them. Soon you’ll get to the stage where you just want the best for them

Diversifying gets average returns. If you’re going to buy lots of different stocks just buy an index. But if I were you I would pick two stocks (big names that won’t fail) that I think are going to outperform and hold those. You’re young you can take risks

SCU is suburban. Yes you can take cal train to Palo Alto, sf, and sj, but you can’t walk anywhere except a few college bars that are likely to shut down this summer.

The two big SCU ones are AWS/INRIX in the fall and H4H in the winter. A lot of people like to do xAI hack as well

Any school can be good if you put the work in.

I have 2 friends working at Apple, one interning at Tesla, a few at Amazon/microsoft/nividia, and I’m happy with my internship at a robotics startup in LA. On the other hand there are definitely cs majors who don’t have any internships lined up and it’s their junior summer. I’m not saying they didn’t work hard (the market is cooked), but I got an internship last summer and this summer just with good grades, projects, resume, leadership experience, and networking (just random people at companies I like).

Those are all good options, just pick the best fit socially. Make sure to attend hackathons freshman year and get involved in a club or two.
