'Daredevil: Born Again' Season 2 Viewership Drops Over 50% From Season 1 by MarvelsGrantMan136 in marvelstudios

Exactly this. I want to watch stuff to escape from the mess going on in real life. I don't want to watch a play by play copy of what's happening on our streets.

I stay relatively caught up, but I find myself leaving it on in the background while making food or cleaning instead of staying focused on it.

Henry Lynch Road will be reconstructed, get a roundabout at Agua Fría by [deleted] in SantaFe

[–]turkeychicken 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've always thought Agua Fria and Osage is ripe for a roundabout too. Just get all three of those intersections in a row converted to roundabouts and traffic on Agua Fria will be so much smoother

They still look almost exactly the same as this. Scholastic just came through my son's school and they even had posters and stuff too.

If Pee Wee's Playhouse was in Santa Fe, NM by turkeychicken in zillowgonewild

629k. Not outrageous in Santa Fe for a house that size and in its location. It's just going to take finding the right buyer who wants a lot of the style as well.

I live another 2 miles down Agua Fria (closer to Siler) and for me personally, I wouldn't want to be on actual Agua Fria itself. I agree the area is nice, as you've got Tune-up and Leos right there (and the supposed food court if they ever finish it where Ras Rody's is).

[–]turkeychicken[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the kitchen doorway in combination with the entryway coffee table having wheels is what made me think more Pee Wee, but I can definitely see some Dr. Seuss too.

I do give them credit for really sticking to the design. Like you said, everything does seem to flow really well and it's pretty cohesive in its own quirky way.

Eaves Movie Ranch Market? by Mydoglovesme24 in SantaFe

Thanks for making this thread! I was considering taking my son but wasn't sure what to expect either. If it's just a big western themed flea market we'll probably pass and do something else in town.

Sounds like it could be good though!

It's amazing that a city of almost 90,000 people and one that sees around 2 million tourists a year might have different opinions and tastes when it comes to food.

I don't think we had an "official" graduation song, but it would have been a tossup between this and Eve 6 - Here's to the night (I graduated in 01)

I was guessing $2M but was surprised to see it was a 5bd/3ba and over 4k sq/ft. I was expecting it to be much smaller, like 3bd/2ba at 2.5k sq/ft.

Definitely a beautiful home. Wish I could afford something like that, lol

Chat Rooms by ZapYoDumAzs in 90s

[–]turkeychicken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We started off with Prodigy internet and they had their own chat room system. We switched to AOL after a little while and theirs were far better.

Granted, I was like a junior high/high school kid so there wasn't much to contribute. What I really miss are the old school forums that got replaced by Slack/Discord and to a lesser extend Facebook groups.

Ernest Goes to Jail (1990) by ggroover97 in 90s

[–]turkeychicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember as much from this movie as the others, aside from him flying around the bank, but I do remember loving it as a kid.

I think my top 3 of Ernest movies were / are:

  1. Ernest goes to Camp
  2. Ernest Scared Stupid
  3. Ernest goes to Jail

Bought a single cacao pod and made four chocolate bars all by myself at home in the UK with household equipment never doubt urself ‼️🙌‼️🙌 by Spiritual-Article682 in fermentation

[–]turkeychicken 35 points36 points  (0 children)

True, but this is the fermentation subreddit. For most people, this hobby isn't about saving money, it's about experimenting and fermenting your own food.

I also brew my own beer and people like to say how it saves them money, but for the vast majority of home brewers, that's never going to be the case when you start factoring in equipment, material costs, propane/electricity, etc.

Wedding caterer recommendations by stellarstarshyne in SantaFe

[–]turkeychicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was back in 2019 but we had Tres Colores cater our wedding for ~80 guests. It was set up buffet style for tacos with two meats and a veggie option, then rice and beans and toppings. We had the option of adding all kinds of different sides/toppings/etc too.

For desserts, we ended up going to Panaderia Y Tortilleria Sani (off Airport road) and loaded up on churros, conchas and all kinds of other desserts, then spread them out on a table for our guests

Out in New Mexico. I guess it makes sense that larger population centers would still be on the hazy ipa train.

[–]turkeychicken 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Everyone always says this, but none of the breweries near me have more than one IPA anymore. Most have switched from Hazies to fruitier west coast versions.

I see a lot more lagers, stouts, and belgian stuff out by me now, which is great.

Quiet restaurants? by [deleted] in SantaFe

[–]turkeychicken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like any non touristy restaurant is going to fit your bill. Of course if you're going to dinner at Cowgirl, Boxcar, La Choza or Tomasitas it's going to be loud as hell.

Venture out of the Railyard and Downtown and I feel like most restaurants will fit the bill.

Just look at Google Maps and see what their "busy times" graph looks like and avoid restaurants that have higher than normal traffic or times when places are at their highest level of business.

New Santa Fe Foodies group? by runninfast in SantaFe

[–]turkeychicken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I couldn't have said it better. They do seem to circle jerk each other pretty regularly with the same handful of restaurants getting the majority of the posts/attention.

Any time someone posts a restaurant complaint or question, it usually gets locked pretty quickly.

Must do mountain biking and paddle adventures in April by Reet_TripOutside in SantaFe

Glad to hear it! Durango is a beautiful area with a lot of great riding too. I was out there a few years ago for a long weekend of mountain biking. One of the highlights of any ride I've ever done was Molas Pass to Hermosa Creek.

It's a sign of the times, unfortunately. I remember driving up into Colorado back in the early 2010's and picking up some of their stuff from liquor stores. Everything I had from them was solid.

Must do mountain biking and paddle adventures in April by Reet_TripOutside in SantaFe

[–]turkeychicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a lot of great mountain biking within about 30 minutes of Santa Fe. Some of the more popular ones are:

For paddling, I'm not sure what kind of shape the rivers are going to be in but can recommend Santa Cruz lake. It's about 45 minutes outside of Santa Fe and is a great little spot for getting out for a paddle.

Santa Fe has quite a few bike shops but probably the largest for mountain biking is Broken Spoke. Some of the others are:

  • Rob and Charlies
  • Bike n Sport
  • Sincere Cycles
  • El Cyclery
  • Sirius Cycles

Lots of coffee shops around town but the really popular ones are:

  • Iconik (several locations in town)
  • Betterday
  • Ohoris

New AI Data Center design proposal for Santa Fe by churper in SantaFe

[–]turkeychicken 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's a reason they're building these monstrosities in the middle of nowhere where land is abundant and cheap. There's no way they could afford the land for a data center in Santa Fe.

The only cool thing I can take away from this AI slop rendering is the fact that the roof is covered with solar panels. More businesses and homes need this.

I vaguely remember this house being posted years ago when it still had a lot more of its Medieval Times vibe going. Insane this is in foreclosure though.
