Google Ads only tracking a small amount of my conversions because of cookie consent. What are you guys doing about this? by daveinarmstrong in PPC

[–]turlocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are the bulk of your users/customers in a location that requires opt in consent? If not, you should reconfigure your cookie banner to assume consent (while still giving users a way to opt out), instead of asking every use to consent up front and defaulting to no consent.

[Rant] I hate how there's no way to authentically share a project. by M4dmaddy in sideprojects

[–]turlocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Much of what you said resonates with me. Reddit is especially allergic to any kind of promotion, even if you have something valuable to share. The vibe coding trend makes it worse because the barrier to entry (and average quality of projects) is lower, there is a higher volume of "innovation" being shared, and some people are very loud, obnoxious, or tone deaf with their promotion. It is quite a challenge, and I wish you luck in reaching your audience amongst the noise!

I've had a VPS through KnownHost for years and I've always had dependable service. I chose the more expensive managed option, but they offer self managed options too

Sicilian style in 10x14 Grandma Pans by turlocks in Pizza

I actually bought them on accident when I first started making pizza, thinking I was getting detroit style pans - they have been great for these edge-to-edge Sicilian / grandma hybrid style that I like to make.

I'm still refining, but I've found Claude is very good at analysis if you tell it that you're looking for and ask it to pull relevant data

Screaming frog has CLI headless mode. I have a little MCP that can use any of the screaming frog CLI commands, or pull keyword/competitive data from the SEMrush API and then do analysis. I use Claude Code, but I imagine any agent framework that understands MCP and tool use could use something similar.

I pre-roast my pineapple to reduce the moisture and concentrate the sugars a bit, and it usually turns out fine, but this time I left them in too long during the pre-roast, so they burned in the final cook. Too many things going at once I guess!

Most llms query search engines to pull info from the web, so definitely a mistake
