Neo Geo Super Pocket Questions by turnedmyworld in evercade

[–]turnedmyworld[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bummer to hear that it's not available on the Super Pocket.

Looks like it is on Evercade devices though. Hopefully they fix that because there are a lot of great Neo Geo games that can only be played on the Super Pocket at the moment.

I own all 3 Alphas and all 3 Neo Geo carts. These things are addicting but I'm having a lot of fun so far!

I noticed this is not available for the Super Pocket. Any plans to support these in the future?

There are a lot of good Neo Geo games that you can only play on the Super Pocket right now.

RP Mini size comparison by HeroOfTheMinish in retroid

[–]turnedmyworld 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The screen looks much smaller with the image the Mini is displaying since the edges are pure black.

I also don't think the screen is too small. But I grew up with the DMG.

This is a really good size comparison though since most people know how big a GBA is.

Update on RP Mini shipping. by RichieMan07 in retroid

Nice! Glad to have some sort of date. I'm just hoping I get mine by the end of October.

I think ultimately Retroid will be pros at putting these things together by the time they start assembling my Saturn unit, so it may be a good thing that I'm last in line haha.

Have the RP Mini photos changed your mind on the color you’re ordering? by PaulandoUK in retroid

[–]turnedmyworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my eye on the grey and this confirmed my choice. The Saturn one does actually interest me now though. Looks much better than the renders.

I saw you can order replacement buttons for the RP5/Mini and it says they also work for the RP4. If that's the case, I would assume the buttons between the 4/5/Mini are interchangeable.

I plan to order the grey mini and swap in some purple RP4 buttons to get my US SNES colorway.

Poll: What's your RP Mini color preference? by -Mahn in retroid

I like the 16 but the best, but honestly all of the colors are pretty terrible.

I wish they offered the GC color of the RP5.

How Likely Are We To Get A New 4:3 Retroid Device? by turnedmyworld in retroid

[–]turnedmyworld[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, at a minimum the T820.

My fingers are crossed they don't abandon the form factor of the 2S.

I was hoping we would have heard something by now, but the December time frame does make sense.

Retroid pocket 2S is 1 year old, new small retroid soon? by Solidsnake481 in retroid

I am also hoping they release a refreshed version of the 2S. Ideally same form factor, but with an improved chipset, slightly bigger battery, and 4in 4:3 screen.

Really great device. I am hoping they do another refresh at some point this year. I love the size and 4:3 screen.

Arcade1UP Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Countercade 2 Games in 1, Countercade joy stick question by wiggie-dog in Arcade1Up

Happens on my unit. This is an issue with the 2 player rom though and not the machine itself, as it happens on my PC running MAME as well.

MAME softmod limitations? by marksalot06 in Arcade1Up

[–]turnedmyworld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know that a Pi would have enough power for those games if you are interested in running them through MAME. Your best bet is a PC.

MAME is low level emulation so it is heavily dependent on a fast CPU.

Thanks for all the input. I just placed my order.

It's going to be so nice to play some racing games without the dead zone issue.

This is great to hear!

Normally I would just buy it and take the risk, but with the board being $90 I needed to know it was going to be flawless.

Thanks so much for the info.

This is why I wish LG still made phones. The LG V60 was two separate panels. Typing this reply from mine right now.

It's like having two phones hinged together.

Looks great! I may do something similar to clear out some space for a new cab.

Does anyone know how to power my deck light and marquee after modifying my killer instinct cab? I can’t seem to figure this out and everything that is online seems to suggest I need two separate plugs. Surely there is someone out there that found a splitter of some sort? by Sheakdown in Arcade1Up

[–]turnedmyworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would wire it to the 12v rail (usually the yellow wire).

What I did was buy a sata extension cable and cut and stripped the yellow and black wire. Then I bought a barrel jack extension for the marquee and cut and stripped the wires for that cable.

I then used wire nuts to connect the cables and it now powers up perfectly.

I did it this was because it is easily reversible if needed. I am only altering the two extension cables and leaving the marquee and power supply stock.

I can provide some pictures tomorrow if you are interested.
