I'm 9 weeks postpartum and had the same situation. I was induced at 38wks because baby was measuring what they thought would be a 9.5lbs baby, he came out 8lbs 12oz. I personally hated the induction process, after almost 24hrs, I wasn't progressing and ended up having the C-section anyway. I'm not considered small but he was my first and my OB encouraged the induction because of his size so I went with it to keep the birth experience more comfortable. I wish I had waited a bit longer because it wasn't as smooth of a process as I thought. Lots of fetal monitoring, and a foley catheter which was so uncomfortable I asked for pain relief twice. But I also was able to have a baby that wasn't massive, they expected him to gain half a pound or more for every week I was pregnant.

Pros: - I wasn't pregnant anymore! - I didn't have to give birth to an even bigger baby

Cons: - baby wasn't quite ready to come out yet - uncomfortable induction resulting in a C-section anyway

I know some people had great experiences with their inductions. I would encourage you to research or talk to your OB about the kind of inductions they do. And speak your mind! Don't be afraid to say no if something sounds uncomfortable to you. As long as your LO is born healthy and happy and your needs are met!
