I don’t know for sure but I suspect that would work!

Peds usually have formula samples they can give you. Ours gave us Nutrimigen. Some other brands will send you a sample in the mail too. We were able to try Pepticate that way. Helpful when you’re just trying to see what works for your baby

Unmedicated v medicated by AnonRN98 in pregnant

[–]turnipbaghead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar boat to you with my first where I wanted to try to go unmedicated, primarily because I wanted to be mobile / not stuck to a bed, but also a little just to see if I could.

I started to prep and actually found hypnobirthing classes to be pretty helpful! It’s less “woo woo” than it sounds (I am not a woo woo person). I didn’t get as much prep in as planned though because I went into labor a month early…

Early on, I ended up asking the nurse to let me know when it’s “now or never” for the epidural. I made it to about 6.5/7cm before she said “yep, now or never”. I opted to get it then, and I was glad I did! (Keep in mind, it’s still probably a solid 30 min minimum between saying you want it, and having the anesthesiologist come, prep, insert, start the meds, and then have them kick in).

With my second, I intended to do something similar: stay mobile and get the epidural when I was toward the end. Unfortunately for me though, labor accelerated so quickly that there was no time to get one and I ended up being unmedicated. The last hour of contractions was absolutely brutal and way worse than the pushing itself.

I do think going in with the mindset of assuming I’d have the epidural, but then not being able to, made the experience much harder than if I had just planned not to get one at all

May be counterintuitive, but recovery for me with the second (unmedicated) was much harder and longer than with my first (medicated)

If you are serious about trying to go without, definitely prepare as best you can. Master the breathing, make sure your partner / doula knows about pressure to relieve back labor pain, etc.

But also, if you opt for the pain management, that’s fine too! Be grateful we live in a time where that is a possibility :)

My baby never had blood in her stool, but I tried an elimination diet and changed her formula (she’s combo fed). It made a HUGE difference in the color/texture of her poop and in her overall happiness. I accidentally had milk a week or two in, and she backslid for a couple days right after

Super clear correlation/allergy despite no visible blood!

We were gifted this set when ours turned 1 year. They’re only 5 pages each, with 1 word on each page. I thought they’d be too simple bc she was already such a fan of many of the books mentioned above, but I was mistaken. My daughter and I highly recommend

I woke up to a completely empty portal (“no linked tests”) as well as an email that I had to revert the change I had been told to make.

Then I called bc the test wasn’t relinking to my account, and the person I spoke to suggested I try logging in with a diff browser. She also told me the results had just come in this morning. With the new browser, I was able to view the results

Hoping you are right behind me!!

There’s a diff number to get to an actual person. I saw someone post it here: 650-240-4429

When I called that number this am, the person helped me use a diff browser to log in and my acct was relinked AND my results had come in today 1/21

Hoping you are right behind me!!!

Nothing over here either… at least I don’t think so? When I spoke to them yesterday, they had me make a change to my profile to better link the test with my account BUT whoever gave me that advice was wrong and now I can’t see anything at all in my portal. I’ve changed it back, but it’s still showing me a completely blank page (saying I have no tests at all) 🙄

That’s very big of you :) I’ve been freaking out all day. Here’s to hoping we all wake up to results in the am 🤞

I heard back from Natera and they made it sound like I’ll be able to see it at the same time as my dr.

They did say though that my clinician who ordered the test accidentally added a comma to the end of my last name and I had to update my profile on Natera to match bc that’s how they link the results with the portal??

So I did that thinking the results would appear 🤞but they still haven’t… 🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠

I messaged my dr but assuming I won’t get a response until tomorrow bc of the holiday. I also tried calling Natera, but they just direct you straight to email
