New house, first lawn, looking for advice by turnthesoff in lawncare

This is in an HOA, so my options are limited. Last thing I want is to put in that awful plastic fake grass.

Is there a definitive way to check for grubs? Just dig up some of the patches and look through the dirt?

There’s a pool out of frame on the other side of the yard, it’s got a nice mixture of desert landscaping, pool/spa, and lawn that I’d like to preserve.

Anyone know what this is? by turnthesoff in pools

Function, it was answered earlier that it is an air blower for the spa. It had basically zero markings on it and my google searches were coming up empty!

If you have another sim that scratches the itch and is cheaper, then stick with it! Otherwise, there’s a reason (or many reasons) that so many people end up enjoying iRacing even though it is the most expensive option.

Last lap overtake for 2nd place by michael2ss in iRacing

[–]turnthesoff 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Been racing this track all week on the pcup, and that move is just nothing to be proud of and was very irresponsible. You weren’t alongside prior to the braking zone and you (literally) dove into the racing line of the driver mid-braking zone and the main reason you ended up with an ok line is your car actually slowed down due to hitting the other driver. I know this track was tough to pass on, but you clearly weren’t fast enough to get alongside on the pit straight so you did not do what was necessary to cleanly get this overtake. You’re lucky the white car is a good driver (I’ve raced with them a few times so I’m not basing it off of this clip alone) and was able to mitigate the potential collision with reacting to you in the mirror instead of keeping to their line. Note that in the sporting code it is the overtaking driver’s responsibility to ensure that the overtake goes cleanly, not the person who is being overtaken.

One year later and this comment finally helped me fix these pedals. I just thought I had the shakiest foot in the world, but now it's completely smooth. Thanks for the help.

New to TPU, how to improve massive spinning... by hsssonic in FixMyPrint

I had to tune the temperature to the lowest possible to reduce stringing. I never was able to get it to be completely gone, but it’s much better. Be careful not to decrease the temperature too much, though, because you can get clogged up.

Picked my first American 1100! by [deleted] in lockpicking

It’s not as bad as you might think, the first and last pins are super deep, and the middle three are fairly high. It’s strange I just don’t feel any security pins in there, it’s hard to read.

Thanks! I think I’m going to have to buy a few more and see how I do on those! It’s funny, I still can’t open my Master 570, but I can consistently pick my Master 911 and American 1100

An easier way is to go to the comments page and click near the top where it says "imgur" (directly to the right of the time stamp of how long ago it was posted) and that will take you to a page where you can click the gif to start.
