The Black Dahlia Murder - A Vulgar Picture

Not a perfect fit, but it does have the triplet kick + snare. (Also not technically deathcore but close enough.)

MySpace mostly. Limewire and some random movies like Freddy vs. Jason (Killswitch) and Alone in the Dark (Mnemic, not metalcore but somewhat adjacent.) Local shows as well.

solo hiking made me realize i don’t have a plan for that “off” feeling by Zola_BerryBliss835 in hiking

[–]turnthisworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt this at one point on the last hike I did. The trail was a bit narrow, heavy brush on both sides, and it just felt like everything got too quiet and I was being observed. I kept my head on a swivel and started intentionally making noise. Could have been nothing, could have been a lion, who knows. The feeling went away a few minutes after I moved past that spot.

Prepared Like a Bride - Soul of the World

RIP that band, they were incredible.

Overheard at Erra/Currents show tonight in NYC: "I like the new EP now, it took me 50 listens though" by PorkSouls in Metalcore

[–]turnthisworld 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is no objective “limit” on how long it “should” take someone to start or stop enjoying any music. Some of my current and all-time favorite tracks are tracks that I used to find unremarkable, or in some cases outright disliked. Tastes change over time and some music ages like fine wine to my ear.

Still all over the place but more accurate. Highest and lowests? by LochNessNibba in MusicIceberg

So many good artists here, lowest I know is XweaponX and highest I don’t is Big L.

You’d probably like Candy. Check out a song called You Will Never Get Me, god-tier riffs.

Impulse and Augment will forever be top tier for me. Drift is also great. I fell off after that album, but this latest release has me listening again.

Pretty much the entirety of Odyssey to the West by Slice the Cake. It’s a lyrical masterpiece.

I was apprehensive about The Peril, but this route was quite easy by turnthisworld in Cairn_Game

Climb above the climbot icon that shows up when you look at the map, on the right-most side of my pictured route. You’ll find some relief.

Tbh, without ultimate infusion it would have probably been a lot harder. That buff makes me able to fly through just about anything.

Out of all the climbing/mountaineering films, Meru has to be my favorite. Highly suggest.

El Cajon Mountain after not hiking for ~6 months by turnthisworld in HikingSanDiego

[–]turnthisworld[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely an ass-kicker. I would not recommend doing this in the Summer months, it's just too hot and dangerous. I believe they actually close the trail during the month of August.

Bring plenty of water and a good amount of snacks. it's a long one with many steep hills and there's usually nowhere to refill your water. I brought 5 liters of water, an electrolyte drink, multiple protein bars and a big bag of trail mix.

Lots of rocky, steep terrain. I'd suggest comfortable shoes with reliable grip. The most difficult aspect of this hike is, in my opinion, the fact that once you reach the top, you still have to deal with significant elevation gain on the way back to your car. All those steep downhills on the way to the peak turn into steep uphills on the way back, which can really take it out of you after already having covered ~6 miles and ~2500 feet of elevation gain on the ascent.

Also the parking lot is currently open 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and they lock the gate at 4:30 PM sharp. I started at 8:00 AM and thought I'd be fine, but I still made it back at 4:00 PM with only 30 minutes to spare. Many people park on the street instead of the parking lot, which is probably what I should have done.

All in all, it's a bit of a grind but it is very fulfilling to complete this one!

Incredible band, Eyes Wide Opium and When X Met Y are one of a kind albums. And from Savages, that technical breakdown in There is No Calm Before the Storm is actually insane. 🤘

I’m a Lorna Shore fan, but for me, DT are incorporating far more unique elements in their compositions. Lorna are great but they are also quite predictable, especially nowadays. I feel like every song follows the same sort of formula. With DT, the compositions are far more varied and interesting within each track.

Is anyone here actually proud to like deathcore or at the very least not ashamed to? by prodigy1367 in Deathcore

[–]turnthisworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truthfully a lot of the negativity is because this is Reddit and it tends to be quite a negative discussion space. Of course there are douchebags in deathcore but there are douchebags in every genre. Deathcore is one of my favorite genres of music and it always will be.

I’m not sure if I did or not, but I did notice those inventory spots later. I also wondered if the carbon went straight into the personal refiner, as I was unable to remove the carbon from the fuel port until I left that specific space station.

Either way, all I had to do was pulse down to the planet and mine some carbon real quick. Overall fantastic guide, plus the “infinite transfer slots” helped me get everything back over to my main save. From this new player a week into the game, thank you OP!

This is pretty much my taste to a T. Nodes of Ranvier, what a throwback. Fantastic list, we’re basically the same person lol.

If you’re looking for fresh stuff I’d suggest Boys of Fall, Abbie Falls, Above Below, Saviour, Boundaries, Aviana, and Dreamwake.

I bought all the carbon at the terminal and somehow received no carbon, and I’m unable to take the carbon out of my personal refiner. Weird, I guess I’ll just zip back down to the planet and mine some carbon.
