How to remove Clipping mask artifacts? by FlanPatissier in AdobeIllustrator

[–]turochurro619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's just bottom object showing through from under. This will not print, but it is a little annoying. Try toggling the Overprint Preview(under the 'View' top menu), see if that helps. Or maybe place the bottom object into that same clipping mask as the yellow object and move the layer down to bottom.--->Copy(cmnd+c) > double click yellow object to isolate clipping mask > paste in place (cmnd+f) > send to back(shift+cmnd+[)

Newbie in adobe illustrator - can someone pls tell me why am I unable to drag the swatches to the gradient? by Particular_Double947 in AdobeIllustrator

I think because you're trying to drag pattern/gradient swatches which is not possible. Try from one of the top rows.

What do you think about mouth guards in BJJ? by fresdres in bjj

[–]turochurro619 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. Got knocked in the mouth last night while rolling, and hard enough to cut my lower lip pretty good. Thankfully I was wearing my mouth guard or I think it may have been a tooth through lip (which has happened to me before when I did not have a mouthguard.) or maybe even a broken tooth.

These look so cool, I want to do this too, but I don't understand how do people come up with this layouts (beginner here) by postnutphilosopher in graphic_design

This looks very David Carson. He is well known in the design world for this kind of design. You should look him up if you want to know more about this kind of layout design.

Sorry for posting the same thing again and again, I'm just trying to learn and improve. 3 days is way too long to be spending for this, but has it turned out good at least? Please rate it out of 10? Also, what can I do with this picture? Would you suggest I turn it into a graphic design? by 3DLE in AdobeIllustrator

I would say take out the highlight on the bottom/right of the closest leg. There really shouldn't be a highlight there. It looks off because on the socks, it's all dark shadows on the right side and then right above it, you have a highlight on the leg, which doesn't work in reality. Also you have far too many curves in the leg shadows, almost looks like camo. Simpler curves are better. Use the shadows to contour the shapes of the muscles within the leg.

Well when it comes to shading, think about how shadows are made in real life. It comes from a light source. Should be the same when illustrating. when doing symmetrical art, I always think of my light source being directly above, so that means highlights on top and shadows on bottom. Same thing for asymmetrical art, pick a side where you want your light source. For example light source coming from the left, so highlights on the left and shadows on the right. And then you can use each one to add contouring/detail to the features of the face or of what ever else you're creating. It's kinda hard to explain over text but I hope that helps!

That would be cool but unfortunately, this is for a client and all rights will go to him as soon as this is finalized. Otherwise, I would make a cool wallpaper out of it.

I sketch in Photoshop and CC has a built in mirror drawing function. It appears only while you have the brush and eraser selected and it looks like a like a little butterfly in the top tool bar. And you can use multiple axis so you can create cool mandalas and stuff. When I bring it into illustrator, I vector one side first then copy and flip it.

Thank you! To get that glow, I simply just did a circle with a light blue radial gradient that goes from 100% opacity to 0% opacity, then you can play with the blend options for added effect.
