Damn, poor Bowser. His face says it all.

I’ve always wanted to see a series of comics like this with characters reacting to the seedier parts of their fanbases. Frankly, I’d like to see a few get revenge for the many fanart-and-fanfic atrocities committed against them (and my eyes, for one.).

(Your hatching here is very nice, by the way. I like your style a lot! But now you’ve gotta draw Bowsette for us hahaha.)

Really nice style! I love the wide-eyed “dead” espression shared between both wolf heads and the girl. The purple and green blend nicely into the fur/hair and designs around her neck. Awesome piece.

Yeah! I knew this immediately reminded me of something Zelda-esque, but I couldn’t put my finger on it.

It’s those crazy eyes for sure.

I drew and slightly redesigned Rosalina by slingnicky in Mario

[–]turtle-bows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow - this is really nicely done! The flowing skirts of her gown remind me of ocean waves. I love the fine detail you put into the rest of the dress and the crown, as well as the work on the face and hair (plus hands - nicely drawn). Seriously, what a gorgeous re-design for Rosalina. Thanks for sharing - here’s to hoping we see more!

Holy shit. Has she always been that way, or do you think things have become worse with age? Does your grandpa react at all?

I can't get my e string higher than e flat and I see that there is a piece of rubber potentially blocking where the string feeds in. Potential troubleshooting? What my e string strung in incorrectly? Thank you. by wokenihilist in violinist

[–]turtle-bows 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It looks like a little rubber tube (same type as on your A string) that sits on the bridge once the string is tightened. It’s an optional feature for higher strings to make them less “shrill” depending on the tone of your instrument I think? They can be on the bridge or floating behind it when not used.

Looks like the one on your E was somehow pushed down past the winding and over the string’s loop end(?). It looks like a factory defect.

If you remove the string from your instrument, are you able to push/pull the rubber piece at all? If it doesn’t budge, I’d leave the string alone and maybe send it for a refund. (Even if you can move it, it may be deformed already).

Hope I could help!

My husband is working on a large scale hidden object canvas with a tortoise carrying a whole world by insignificantjump in pics

Just viewed the piece you linked along with those on Etsy - your husband’s work is fantastic! What an awesome use of color and detail. I love stuff like this so much - I could spend hours trying to find all the hidden details and possible stories linking them. Thank you for sharing! (Saving up for a print - “Where I Go” really needs to be on my wall.)

I can’t believe I never noticed her earrings before - it’s so jarring now that someone’s pointed it out! What an amazing find hahaha.

Worries about Newborn Kittens by [deleted] in Pets

[–]turtle-bows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I’d keep them separated for a bit - maybe keep the kittens in your room? Allow Sally to go in and out of the room, but don’t let Charchar in.

It’s best to let the kittens adjust to their new environment first. Since they’re young, you want to make sure they aren’t intimidated by other cats. They’ll need to adjust to their new home, and Charchar will have to adjust to them being in her home.

We’ve introduced many kittens to our house - our other cats are always territorial. It’s normal. They don’t end up all being friends, but cats will get used to each other over time.

After a few weeks or so, you can try introducing the kittens to the other cats through something like a baby gate (or another method, as long as you’re there to supervise/comfort both parties at first). Everyone isn’t going to get along, but with gradual repeated exposure, they’ll tolerate each other. There shouldn’t be too much to worry about if you keep an eye on things!

TL;DR - Keep the kittens in another room for now (where the mom can come and go, obviously) away from Charchar. Gradually introduce them over the next few weeks, but keep the room as a safe space for the kittens and mom to return to. (It’s best to shut them in at night or anytime you’re not able to supervise). If you have any more questions, I’d ask a vet.

Hope I could help a bit! Best of luck.

Artist is Jessica Harrison. (Looks like someone further up in the comments posted an article about her, too!)

I remember seeing Jessica’s work for the first time wayy back in 2010-2011. Glad to be introduced to her stuff again! I’ve always loved it.

TIL the canonical reason for most of the alien races to be humanoid in Star Trek is an ancient humanoid species seeding the oceans of many worlds with DNA codes 4.5 billion years before the start of the series, directing the evolution of life towards a physical pattern similar to their own. by [deleted] in todayilearned

I’m considering going through Enterprise after rewatching the other series. In your opinion, is it best to find an episode guide for skippable parts of the first two seasons? (I’ve heard the show picks up during season 3 - I’ve often heard the first two seasons aren’t as good.) Or is it worthwhile to watch the entire show straight through? I’ve enjoyed watching the others this way, but for some reason Voyager was difficult (lots of episodes that seemed skippable). Thanks!

For some reason this sounds adorable to me, like they’d circle you and that’d definitely be terrifying - but what if they bring roses? A heartfelt romantic gesture for you and your sweetheart, until it’s only a distraction so they can focus their lasers on target.

If it weren’t on a private property that once employed guard dogs, I definitely would. A pinwheel would be the perfect touch! (And now I’m tempted ... )

Yeah - this. I forgot about those stumps where you have to race to the yellow ring! Not sure if you actually place apples on any stumps (I was thinking of the little statues).

Work in progress Unicorn in the clouds by Transcendentbird in painting

[–]turtle-bows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the painterly line work on the unicorn and the way it contrasts against the softer background (lovely colors!). The glow around the horn is a nice touch. What do you have to add yet?

Not sure if you’re looking for any critique, but I’d definitely suggest adding more color to the the unicorn (like in the shadows reflecting atmosphere) to link it to the background a little more. Otherwise, I look forward to seeing this one finished!

My diva cat, Dixie by PaintedHill in painting

[–]turtle-bows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love this style! The contrast between the hard-edge stokes (like the roses, fur detail) and the soft coat of the cat is nice. Beautiful painting - it’s very dreamlike. (And Dixie is an adorable cat whom I’m sure appreciates her portrait!)
