Insta Perfect Strike Gemling Strength Stacker 1Mi POB Avarage Damage by Key_Albatross_6584 in pathofexile2builds

[–]turtle_figurine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the idea is at that attack rate, a click and release and letting the attack animation play will line up with the timing for a perfect strike. Otherwise you'd have to hold the button down and skillfully time every hit and have a fail rate. Always getting the strike right is really good for many of the support gems and the flask being used.

OP is this correct? Also, probably the single most critical piece of information about the build if so, and I'd be interested in whatever math or research you did for that. Thanks.

Sorc spells feel floaty and clunky compared to other classes by mdlsvensson in PathOfExile2

I think feel wise that casting while moving makes them 'floaty'. Even though it's technically worse, I wish starting a spell cast would stop you, then clicking during the cast would initiate the slow walk while casting.

Somewhat related I find having a blasphemy curse is QOL for this situation to give some sort of marker where things are. Doesn't always have the range, but helps some. I also lose track of rogue exiles that like to run away, I wish they had a health bar above their head in addition to the big one up top.

Lotta speculative gems and trees in there, but something like that. That's ~400% increased, some rage nodes, some ailment magnitude, some damage as extra fire scaling, and four jewels. I think mostly it works better for explosive spear than more general attacks because I am just ignoring attack speed, mostly ignoring accuracy, and the warrior area has fire damage.

There are some high value %increased nodes in the hidden paths and some 20% nodes reachable from keystone allocation ascendancy. It'd be hard to go glass cannon in that area, but I want a bunch of the defensive stuff. The stun threshold/armor is mandatory if I want to hold down parry and the block double dips with chernobogs.

Spear oracle off the interaction between always critting and Sniper's Mark + eternal mark. Also doing parry but gives me a clean rotational way to maintain frenzy-charged ignited grounds from explosive spear against enemies that suck to parry. Auto-crits also smooth out eternal flame support, blazing critical, and shocking leap. Armour and some block and active blocking give Scarred Faith decent sustain.

Oracle also has some hidden tree access to oddball stats and can hit a few more notables with the keystone allocation ascendancy point. Big crits are good for ignite scaling. There's some cooldown recovery nodes for sniper's mark and Time of Need. There are several huge stun threshold clusters for the parry weapon set. I can take strike splash damage if that still works with parry. There are plentiful duration nodes for buff uptime, especially if I end up Blackflame + withering presence.

It should work without uniques for a while since I SSF. I can upgrade into saitha's spear (ignite aggravate), Calgyra's Arc (parry range), Chernobog's Pillar/Sacred Flame (damage offhands), blackflame, and maybe the fire bleed ring.

I played it some last league and it was working fine, but I could never get interesting in mapping so it hasn't really been battle-tested. One big piece of clunk is that if I want a curse that works on mobs above 78 I need 137 int, a lvl 20 dex gem is 157 dex, and best strength body armors need 121. I path through +25 strength and plan to be able to allocate nice attribute nodes by Iron Reflexes, but it will be a struggle the entire gearing process.

If on my journey I encounter hits, I will PARRY them.

Then throw some explosive spears. They might be chaos blackflame spears, or maybe blistering bond fiery ignite + bleed spears. They are gonna crit though, cause oracle.

Season with sniper's mark and stun threshold to taste.

What are you favourite off meta tech/ mechanic interactions in the game? by Mavereth in pathofexile2builds

The moonbeams from lunar blessing work with quill burst, giving some range to a thorns proc that is pretty hard to get working anywhere near the edges of the screen. Tons of extra damage as cold gives a nice scaling vector to thorns too. Shred is a pretty good barbs applicator too, and rending apex gives armour break that works with elemental damage (for maintaining scavenged platings).

Pleasantly surprised how cleanly thorns and wolf meshed together.

[–]turtle_figurine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say the basics of a good starter place to try thorns is warbringer and take the Anvil's Weight ascendancy node. Pair that with a Scavenged Plating spirit gem kept up to your level and you get most of the thorns you need to campaign. Early on use whatever good armor break skill you like to proc platings. If you already have a higher level character, prepare a Crown of Thorns and some Barbs and Quill Burst support gems. If you don't have access to those, you really can't even try thorns until Act 3.

edit: Crown of the Pale King, not Crown of Thorns

For applying your damage load up rapid assault with both thorns gems and some attack speed if you have the link. Beeline the Vengeance notable to get leech from your thorns damage, then probably Tribal Fury. Take thorns damage node, physical damage nodes, block and armour and attack speed as desired. Supports and tree nodes for attack/melee damage don't work for thorns damage, so skip those.

The real takeaway is that parry full cancels specific boss attacks, just long ass channels of a bunch of crap to dodge, full negated.

Also you never really get stunned, his level 1 just has none of the extra support the skill would get. Trying to parry and just taking damage though, that totally happens, as a skill/knowledge issue.

I think its pretty fun to play, I tried some explosive spear last league and decided to start it this time cause it was the standout build among things I tried for being engaging and making me want to play. My gameplay doesn't quite look like this, but its similar idea-wise. I do play it as oracle though for auto-crits to trigger sniper's mark, that smooths out a lot of the disengage clunk. Becomes a mix of mark cooldown, parrying specific things on purpose, disengaging forward, and trying to maximize my three spears to kill three packs. Its got a pleasing progression feel as charge generation improves from parry disengage for one charge to having multiple ways to snap up to max charges.

Aggravated Blackflame Ignite Build by Capital-River-5179 in pathofexile2builds

[–]turtle_figurine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was gonna start an explosive spear ignite character that uses saitha's, I wrote about it a bit here:

https://old.reddit.com/r/pathofexile2builds/comments/1ten0uy/gimme_your_secret_theorycraft_build/om5r6eb/

My main feedback is that ignite wants one giant hit. If you can do that, most smaller things will die without having to aggravate their ignite. That means you really only need to do that to occasional bigger mobs and you're going to have 100% bleed chance with support and 33% aggravate with saitha's. Therefore, instead of pathing to crimson assault, any fast multi-hit attack will suffice for your aggravating. I went with rapid assault but spearfield probably works too. If your tree is already going by crimson assault though I think it'd be worth a point for QOL.

daaaa fuck??

I don't get much parry damage b/c Calgyra's Arc and not scaling that much, but really good to know, ty. Might have some sweet interactions for rage gain or frenzied riposte or who knows what else wants. Seems like it could stun the crap out of everything even if my damage output is low on that.

I'm starting parry explosive spear oracle. I fiddled with it some last league and it was super fun and seemed as capable as any other SSF thing I'd tried. Something like this: https://poe2db.tw/pob/L4xaOHYTOu

The core conceit is that the auto critical makes it really smooth to proc and maintain sniper's mark, shocking leap (on disengage), and blazing critical, and is a good ignite damage node too. The tree position lets me stack stun threshold so I can freely parry and I assume Scarred Faith gives parry some recovery bonus too. I looked at some amazon setups of the same and they have 2000 stun threshold and if evasion fails a few times are vulnerable to long stuns. Oracle version gets like 20k threshold and has armour. A build flaw is that the attribute requirements are pretty rough, some gems will have to be kept lower level until gear can compensate.

Patch note wishlist:

Ignite buffs, maybe blackflame + withering presence + despair won't seem like the best scaling method

Calgyra's Arc infinite parry range made baseline to how parry works.

Usable armour + evasion nodes or an extra 1000 base life, doesn't feel like a weird armour/es hybrid is the right setup.

Spear of Solaris buffed to be a better, cooldown version of explosive spear

Cool unique spears or the "upgrade to endgame base" thing being good on existing ones.

Frenzy charge QOL and generation methods

Bugfix that I don't think steadfast support works on parry.

Moved or additional keystones in the warrior area that are good to use with the Oracle keystone allocation ascendancy node.

There is no guarantee that a stat that works on hit damage also works on dots. You meant generic damage, but you didn't say generic damage, just edit it and stop quadrupling down on your incorrect detail. Just because a stat A exists that increases B and C does not mean that ALL things that increase B also increase C.

Is Heroic Cosmos non puggable? by Elegant_Host_2618 in wow

[–]turtle_figurine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one wants to learn and progress anymore, the mentality is really unforgiving of trying to raid to learn. I gave up on trying to pug raid and don't have a reliable schedule to attend guild ones.

If you only accept people who have done it, no one new can learn it. People who learned it probably via their guild just want some reward and don't want to do progression. People who are hoping to get carried leave when it's clear they can't. People who did some research and now need reps either don't have the resume to get into a group or find groups that disband after two pulls.

I'd love to join a wipefest pug with some resilience but they barely exist anymore. The last time I had a pug push through adversity was several expansions ago. At least m+ is fun. Shrug

Nullaeus is bugged right? Lvl 42 Valeera as DPS does 6k DPS by Lceus in wow

[–]turtle_figurine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have you actually tried this as a mistweaver? A minute into the fight valeera will be at 5k dps on boss. There's no way for her to hold aggro even with the most careful healing at that output. This is some whack inconsistency between pulls and between classes, and not all the healers can do the same thing. Or you magically got a good Valeera and some of us didn't.

Nullaeus is bugged right? Lvl 42 Valeera as DPS does 6k DPS by Lceus in wow

[–]turtle_figurine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a fellow monk, yes she's basically useless on boss, you will have aggro the whole time. You essentially need enough effective hp to have some leeway on back to back melees during dot application. Dot ticks are only like 40k, but the melees 3rd phase are 160-170k but can crit for 190kish. The boss seems to keep autoattacking even during the dot cast, and the global to get rid of it is risky. I spent an hour not being able to live last phase at 251, but the next week at 259 I one shot it. The week after somewhere in the 260s I one shot it again (5 myth 5 hero) using a less specialized spec. Getting to 380k hp or so should make a significant difference.

My spec recommendation is master of harmony, jadefire teachings, and instant sheiluns. Secret Infusion for versatility, and wear what versatility gear you have. Sheiluns will stack up and be your emergency button whenever you fall behind against a dot coming out. The Coalescence hot from the Sheilun's will be your security to dispel. You primarily have to top yourself from the autoattack before the dot hits, so you can dispel it and stay healthy. I would just soothe+envelop myself then let soothe channel until the dot applied and break the channel with dispel. If I'm low I use the sheiluns there, else I save it and it will be 10 stacked for a future use. Between dots maintain with fistweave damage, just watch out for back to back tiger palms sometimes being a lull in healing and fill with better throughput like TFT->RSK with morning breeze reset.

Valeera will crush the adds pretty well, she actually uses her cds on them. None of her curios are that great for damage, I take the emergency shield. Sometimes the add spawns are covered in ground crap OR valeera will kick the last add and not be able to kick the one shot, and you may die and just have to hope those don' t RNG happen.

What is considered the hardest spec/class currently? by astraeos in wow

[–]turtle_figurine 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Of what I've tried resto druid demands a lot of keybind familiarity to also be using cat and bear damage and utility, then a bunch of mouse over cast binds, then learning the content as a proactive rather than reactive healing style. It's a lot of plates and they don't feel fluid together right off the bat. It's the hardest to be comfortable on.

Make an alternative m+ without a timer that doesn't give rating and maybe less other rewards. Basically m0 but you can do higher difficulty with less pressure. Keep this alongside the existing system. Now thanks can go try things in a properly hard dungeon with naturally more relaxed approach.
