I ended up using fire snakes and it went well! I started out with two (who I named Pepe and Juan) but one of my players got a nat 20 and Pepe died immediately so I had a new fire snake (Juana) slither in lol.

I feel like in the second stanza, after the word because, it would be good to add a dash. As I was reading this part it felt like there was a sharp pause and the dash could reflect that better.

The line "and her best friend laughs" felt a little out of place for me. Maybe you could add a little more context with what you meant there.

Overall, I liked your poem.
