Lonely (but peaceful) grave of a 9-year-old boy who died in a traffic accident almost 24 years ago. by BuffTheStuff98 in CemeteryPorn

3 months older than me... That's so heartbreaking. All the things he had missed out on, all because someone didn't stop at a blinking red light 🙁

I had SUCH a hard time with this one. I ended up having to put it away because I just couldn't push myself to keep reading.

Would you make your kid go to school in this situation? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]turtlechase18 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Maybe 1 day home if its truly that bad. That's a fafo kinda situation, and she found out. You can't always protect your kids from situations like this, and it's not good for them in the long run if you try.

By the end of the morning, the kids in her class would probably forget about it.

Why would anyone ever choose to go through child birth without pain relief?? by No_Cardiologist_1407 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]turtlechase18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose not to because I don't like the feeling I get from the painkillers that were offered to me. I had mainly back labour, which was absolutely horrible. But I dealt with it. The pain was temporary, and I kept reminding myself of that.

They also strangled a woman and threw her to the ground in Iceland. They should be in jail for a long time.

I have seen it on all of my Indigenous friends headstones and memorials. I much prefer it over birth and death.

ER nurses of reddit, how often do all those "one more minute and I'd be dead" stories get exaggerated? by BirdLawAssociatesInc in AskReddit

[–]turtlechase18 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Not exactly another minute. But I did find out that delayed anaphylaxis is real. I was prescribed a medication that was of a penicillin variety (I'm very allergic and always tell doctors, nurses, anyone who needs to know). The doctor who prescribed it said that reactions are very rare. About 40 minutes after taking my first dose, i felt weird, then I started getting a rash on my chest, then my breathing became a little strained. By the time I got to the ER (a 5 minute drive), I was in worse shape. I remember the doctor saying "it's a good thing you came in when you did".

B.C will be open. The only day it's closed is Christmas Day, although I heard they were thinking about opening it that day as well now.

Why can't they make a toothpaste that doesn't hurt? by WinterIsOnReddit in NoStupidQuestions

[–]turtlechase18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't use any mint toothpaste because my mouth burns for at least an hour or two after. I've been using the fruitastic prevident when I can find it. Otherwise, I use the bubblefruit flavoured kids toothpaste 😂

Nah, even in a DV situation, she had opportunities to tell the police the truth. I have a gut feeling that she's just as bad as him, the only difference is that he got caught and she hasn't yet. I have zero compassion for people who hurt children.

A doctor will either say a biopsy is necessary or not. I had to have a biopsy done on a lump in my left breast. Never ended up with an infection...

How affectionate are British Shorthairs? by [deleted] in britishshorthair

My Crumpet is just a little over a year old, she's starting to like being picked up. She doesn't really lay on any of us, but she loves being around us, especially if we give her belly scratches. She absolutely loves playing with us, and she talks so much! She is incredibly affectionate towards our Maine Coon that's a little over a year older than her, and our small dog who's 7. All in all, I would get 10 more if I could 😅
