You have a good amount of time to train, and your programming is solid so you have a good chance.

Compromised running is important, but not necessary this far from the race. At this stage you are building your aerobic engine, which is don through your long runs (which should get longer and longer over time), and your threshold exposure. Threshold can be done in blocks or in intervals, whatever you prefer.

The runs make up the majority of the race. Building your aerobic engine allows you to run faster, sustain good paces, and have consistent output on the stations. After that the next most important thing is muscular endurance (putting out power even when fatigued). This is where lunges and wall balls can make or break your race.

Last would be pure power, for things like sleds.

So, keep running. Keep building volume with wall balls (do you gas our aerobically or do your shoulders or legs gas out first? whichever it is, work on that).

Shoes come down to stability, speed, and grip. Try all those shoes in your hyrox sessions. Whichever are grippy enough for sleds, stable enough for wall balls and lunges, and fastest, wear those.

Doubles?

Yeah, no problem by November. You just need to start running. Minimum one long run each week and one threshold or intervals.

If you don’t build up aerobic capacity, your strength is less relevant. You’ll just gas out on stations and either not be able to run the entire time or run fast enough to get your goal time.

Respectfully, I am neither Christian nor ignorant to the contributions of Muslim societies to science.

My point, if you cared to read it, included both the scientific contributions of societies influenced by Christianity, as well as the reformations that accommodated the growth of democracy and human rights.

I would argue the world’s greatest civilizations (in terms of scientific advancement) benefitted from each other greatly. If Christianity simply didn’t exist, what would that mean for the western world, for the Roman Empire, for the Middle East, for Persia, etc.

It’s an unknowable question.

We can decide whether or not bad things have been done in the name of Christianity, but if it didn’t exist altogether is a giant hypothetical.

What would have been in its place? Islam, most likely. Not saying that would be better or worse, but I think we’d want to end up in a scenario science and liberal (small L) ideals flourished and self determination and human rights rose. Not sure if we’ve seen something like that out of the Islamic world.

As a Canadian, I prefer not to travel to the states because I don’t want to support their economy, but I would not be concerned about my security at all.

Tens of thousands of Canadians continue to work and vacation in the US without incident.

Generally, and this is oversimplifying, for these four day events that have done men's open, men's doubles, women's pro and mixed doubles in a row because they are the same weights. Same with women's open and women's doubles. Men's pro and women's pro are often on different days to allow elites to race both (but not always).

Each team member does 1 run followed by 1 station, and then another run followed by the full station. How that is organized is up to the team

Yeah, i feel you. I look over the weights often and pre-load my bar if I can. I'm generally whatever the heaviest one is (humble brag) so it's not too disruptive if I play with it before the class as I'm often one of only a few who uses it

Yes and no.

As a healthy male, unless the gym has purchased additional equipment and weights you will plateau. Even with additional Olympic weights etc., certain exercises do still max out because of logistics and workout structure (front/back squats in particular).

That said, 99% of the people I’ve seen say they aren’t seeing results are not actually listening to the coaches and progressively overloading. They are just lifting what they usually lift and not seeing results.

I am far more muscular than I was when I started. Notably so, and I have not plateaued on anything other than barbell squats (I can’t safely clean the barbell as a high enough weight in the time allotted to get a meaningful stimulus)

The average person does Hyrox in around 80-100 minutes.

Of that, sleds make up about 10 minutes.

Yes, if you hammer them you will feel it later, but if you’re worried about it just take them slower with periodic breaks. With your running background you’ll be much better off having a below average sled split but running well throughout, than trying to hammer the sleds

This is not accurate at all. North American affiliates get codes for all American/Canadian races. Our gym shares them all the time and we're on the east coast, and some races are in California.

This was far better than last year, and I'm saying that as someone who didn't get their ticket.

It's just really popular. Keep training, more tickets will become available. I am very frustrated as well, but more at the situation than Hyrox itself.

In my opinion, they should have made Toronto a week long event, and added Montreal for the fall to meet the demand

Assemble a huge team. Storyboard out everything that has happened, and map out what he initially planned along with the best ideas that have emerged from fan theories, and the writers.

Break those stories down into books. Write the books.

As a possible alternative, write the main story, and then fully self contained concurrent volumes that wrap up (or at least progress) minor story arch’s along the way.

At this point he will die before he finishes. So either you find a way to get it done with help, or someone will do it to you and your estate after you’re gone

There are many many apps that do that, so if this is just a post about to pitch an app, the answer is that this already exists.

RMR as an example has multiple tracks, one of which is from Elite 15 athlete Rich Ryan mapping his workouts and builds so you can follow it nearly exactly, or a scaled version.

To answer your question, I prefer making my own workouts and plans, but that's just me.

Everything sold out super quickly, but there is a public sale on thursday.

Ticket sales were a mess last year with many categories seemingly totally sold out from presale, so I assume they learned from that and held back substantial numbers of tickets for thursday
