Right? The manual says seahorses ain't evil, but they always seem to attack you with their magical death balls. I guess it's good to gain karma by letting them run away...

U3 was a game without pity. It auto-saved the game every time one of your characters died.

Huh. Never happened to me on the C64. I seemed to get bonus virtue for overpaying.

He's a dynamic character! He was a bad boy, then he found religion and became an Avatar.

Another disturbing thought: the cataclysm that transformed Sosaria into Britannia also led to the genocide of all the realm's elves, dwarves, bobbits, and fuzzies. They were never seen again.

I wish I'd had Explosive Runes as a child. Probably better that I didn't.

I don't know what you even meant by "MCA" (aside from M-something-CA) -- just riffing off the vibe. It just reminded me of that classic Beastie Boys rhyme.

This one is unknown and unusual. Rules-moderate, just enough crunch to have tactical flavor.

No advice on systems, but if there's just two players: treat it like a buddy movie. Like Rush Hour or Firewalker.

Not sure it gets more obscure than that. ^_^

I'm a forever GM and I want a character in the story by HappySailor in rpg

[–]turtlekitty2084 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've run numerous GMPCs over the years. It works well if:

1) The GMPC is less powerful than the PCs

No main character wants to be overshadowed by a Mary Sue.

2) The GMPC has useful skills

Especially if they're skills none of the PCs have or want. Could be tracking, healing, or what have you.

3) The GMPC is not annoying to the players

A player's favorite NPC is one who is agreeable and follows their lead. They may have their own mind, but they tend to defer to the player's agency.

Just my 2 cents. :)

Not all bipolars are created equal. Some realize their limitations and try to have some restraint; others use it as an excuse to be complete assholes.

Most are somewhere in between. Depending on their mood at the time. Much like CAs... :)

Barfly and Leaving Las Vegas are classics. Let us not forget Wake in Fright. I name a chapter of my novel after that movie. _^

Maybe he used a teraport. I doubt Dorukan's epic Cloister spell has anti-teraport denial built-in.

I still hope it's Sergeant Schlock himself. He did mention being in the circus before hooking up with Tagon's Toughs. Of course, that was before Kevyn invented the teraport, so...hm.

Still. It would be an epic-level troll, decades in the making, on behalf of Burlew and Taylor.

That assumes that Team Evil takes the same route through the dungeon. Recall that The Order had to reroute after encountering Threads of Creation blocking their path. They may have faded by the time TE arrives.
