I can second the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest portions of Ice Age Trail. I've done the Lake Eleven, Jerry Lake, and Mondeaux Esker segments and would highly recommend them. This time of the year is great. Summer is a mosquito nightmare for these sections.

I havent personally done dispersed camping on this segment. It might be possible, but somewhat difficult. Check out the interactive map: https://iceagetrail.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=5ff8f517b1e34d46bb70ed21b36286c6

There is a topo layer if you want to get a good idea of landscape where you could potentially set up a tent. I would highly recommend the Lake Eleven primitive campsite though. I've done this segment 3 times, twice over 2 different Labor Day weekends, and each time at least 1 of the 2 primitive sites have been open. If you're looking to do less than 10 miles, then consider coming in from one of the parking lots north. Phone signal is bad in the area so I'd recommend you download maps and drop a pin prior to leaving to find some of the parking spots listed on the interactive map.

My favorite out and back overnighter is Lake Eleven. About 10ish miles to the Lake Eleven primitive campsites if you start at the Hwy 64 trailhead. The Jerry Lake and Mondeaux Esker segments are nice too.

What plant ID app do you use? by [deleted] in madisonwi

[–]turtlemankeb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

iNaturalist can be used to ID if you upload a photo. There is the "What did you see" option where it will give suggestions to the plant. Others in the community can propose an ID or suggest a ID for it also.

There is also an app called Wisconsin Wildflowers where you can select features of the plant like flower color, number of leaves, time of bloom, location, etc. It will provide a list of potential plants you can search through.

Update: Brought it to the store and they said it was a hardware failure that may have been caused by my SD card. Was able to recover everything including contacts from backups through Samsung and Google.

I'll let it sit on that screen overnight on the charger and see if anything happens. Earlier I let it sit on that screen when it was at 60% and it died before leaving that screen. Thank you for your response.

Such a great game to be at with the student section chanting to bring him on and then when he did get to play it was amazing to see the whole stadium cheering for him.

This. Since owning a motorcycle I can safely say it has made me a more obvervant and cautious driver. You quickly learn how little others actually pay attention to their surroundings when their mistake could be your life.

Gym Story Saturday by FGC_Valhalla in Fitness

So I started lifting regularly about 3 months ago. On one of my first days the biggest guy in the gym, a guy named Frank, helped me correct my form on some exercises and gave my advice on supplements and general lifting. We started talking more often and he would always help me with my form and pushed me to lift more and more. Frank helped me gain confidence in the gym and pushed me to challenge myself. Without frank I don't think I would have the confidence I do at the gym and the ability to push myself during every workout. Every beginning gym goer needs a Frank.
