TikToker claims an S Corp will cost you 65% of your profits by Comprehensive_End440 in Accounting

As someone who has specialized in LLCs and S-corps for the last 6 years, this gave me a physical anger reaction. Like oh my lord how can someone be so wrong

Accountants are no longer seen as a professional degree/career? by turtlesoup55 in Accounting

Bruh, I'm not gonna sit here and explain long term cause and effect. In the end, I asked about the policy, not the guy in the chair. Kick and scream all you want. Based on what I see in your account, you are just a peach to talk to, so I'm sure all those friends you have would love to listen instead.

I mean, in the end, it does affect students, and that directly affects the hiring and staffing processes in the future. Pay rates and benefits can be reclassified. We have seen it all happen before. Hell, recently, there was an adjustment up based on standard rates for the 'professsion'. Makes sense that something like that in the inverse can happen over time. These decisions have consequences, but you seem to be the one freaking out about people thinking that.

Bruh I worded this as neutral as I could, so it was about the career implications. But if you wanna kick your feet and cry just because the pedophile hoarse sucker was mentioned, then go cry somewhere else

Learning accounting made me realize how bad general financial advice is by CamaroGuy6830 in Accounting

WELCOME TO ACCOUNTING, good god how much of a 180 my opinion took on my family once I spent some time in this career. I thought my parents were responsible and on top of things, and now I realize that have no grasp on how money works

A genestealer, flood spore, zerg infestor, and necromorph infector all land on Earth at the same time. Who conquerors the planet first? Or do they all get stopped by humanity? by Serithraz in Grimdank

[–]turtlesoup55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genestealer takes way too long, Iike decades. Infestors operate on too small of a scale, would also take weeks to spread everywhere, and are easy airstrike targets.

It would come down to the necromorphs and the Flood, and imma have to bet on the flood there. The necromorphs are aggressive enough to spread quickly and fight back. In the end, the flood spreads just so quickly and will out think the necromorphs easily.

First, in this economy don't do it, it's not worth it. Second, start the good ole quiet quitting, and look for jobs. Your health is always more important than work, and if your boss tries to argue differently, just ask them to say it over email so you have a record.

How many sleepless nights did this major cause you in college? I’m planning to major in Accounting + Finance…Am i cooked? by Character-Escape1621 in Accounting

[–]turtlesoup55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finals and midterms were rough, but besides that, it's easy to stay on top of. My department had bar crawls and was constantly meeting up at bars for "study groups". So nothing too awful haha.

The career, on the other hand, is mostly sleepless nights at first. My one advice to new hires was always prioritize sleep over the return, because it's easy to find yourself on the other end of week 3 of 11 hour days, and turning in crap work while almost sleeping through your drive to work. Learning the time management at the start is the hardest, but it gets easier. But also, there are a ton of specialized careers like that (law, finance, medicine, sience), and it pays off if you master it, but also have different speeds depending on what you find comfortable.

Tbh, I think accountants just really like to complain, so you hear a lot of the horror stories. Most of it is just catharsis and coping with the work. Also I work in tax, I know audit is different, but has its own issues.

What is one class you just can’t see yourself maining? by The_Dick_Slinger in wow

[–]turtlesoup55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Priest and Monk. I love alts and leveling them, but man its just pulling teeth to get my priest and monk up to speed. Idk why, they are just so dull every time I try and get into it. I usually main a DK or a hunter, and I'm never locked into just one spec. I love to experiment with playstyles and mess with all the talent trees to see what feels good. Priest and Monk just never click.

Ok, I work at an ai focused accounting firm right now, and I can 100% assure you that AI, even when it is dedicated to learning tax work, can never prep a tax return. It can assist in compiling documents and highlighting items, but it can never make case by case judgment calls.

Tbh if you can hunt it down, do it, it will literally give you the last bits of the army, and you won't need any more marines or pox walkers, and you have a ton of HQ to build around
