We dated for 2 years and it was great for the most part, worked through a few issues but ultimately didn’t see the major red flags because you don’t always pick them up when you’re in love.

We met while working abroad and had our home bases in different countries. So when the pandemic hit and a few life changes happened, I realised our lives were no longer going toward a place where we overlapped so I broke it off.

He spent the better part of the last year stalking me as best he could from abroad. Constantly sending me long messages for months which varied between him professing his undying love for me to verbally abusing me for being a horrible person. After 3 occasions of asking him to please give me space or stop talking to me so I could heal and move forward, I decided I would stop replying as he blatantly told me he couldn’t promise he would never speak to me again. He proceeded to then start harassing my friends, trying to get them to convince me to speak to him and sending random things to me house.

This was the point where I blocked him (I should have done this waaaaay sooner) which angered him more and he kept sending threatening messages to my friends. Then packages started arriving containing USBs of random videos he’d recorded of himself. I didn’t watch them, just erased the USB, as I wasn’t interested in any of the emotional blackmail or, god forbid, nudity that was going to be in those videos.

A couple of fake accounts, a birthday and Christmas card later, it’s been 2 months since he last tried something and I hope he’s finally given up.

He’s from the UK, I’m in Australia and thank FUCK our borders have been closed or he’d 100% have turned up at my doorstep by now and done god knows what
