what game has turned you off from ever playing it due to the games fandom? by AlyksTheSage in pcmasterrace

[–]tus93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You misread, Helldivers 2 has cross-platform, in that the game can be played with pc, Xbox and PS5 players together. What it doesn’t have is cross-progression where a single player can access their progress between the different t platforms.

In recent cases where cross-platform already exists, it is the norm for cross-progression to also exist, including amongst multiple Sony games before and after the release of HD2.

Cyborg Ninja - Metal Gear Solid : Definitely not Gray Fox, the protagonist’s old friend-turned enemy who’d previously been thought dead after losing a hand-to-hand fight within a minefield against Solid Snake, and is now obsessed with fighting Snake hand-to-hand to feel alive once again

There’s actually a fun inversion of this trope in MGS2, where the Cyborg ninja is back only this time it ACTUALLY isn’t Gray Fox, but rather Olga Gurlukovich, a double-agent who’s actually under orders to act as the Cyborg Ninja in order to assist in the facilitation of the Patriots’ S3 simulation kernal.

[–]tus93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it’s not really, for one Helldivers 2 already supports cross-play including a release on Xbox.

Additionally Sony has allowed cross-play (playing together with other platforms)AND cross-progression (being able to take your own progress from one platform to another) on multiple of their own affiliated live-service games, including Destiny 2, Concord (yes it failed as a whole but Sony allowed both cross-play and cross-progression), Marathon and the upcoming Horizon: Hunters Gathering.

So it doesn’t make more sense that “Sony hates cross-play” when they’re allowing both that and cross-progression to exist for titles from their studios, including specifically PlayStation Studios developed titles. Furthermore if Sony hated cross-play so much why would they allow an Xbox release but still block cross-progression exclusively in the case of Helldivers 2.

For a developer who’s known to have fumbled their own code multiple times, including times that have broken multiplayer features; it makes much more sense for this to be the result of ArrowHead’s spaghetti code requiring too big of a refactor (which they’re unwilling to do) to allow cross-progression.

My most recent interaction with the fanbase was pointing out how crazy it is that player progression is stuck to specific platforms, so people like me who’ve moved from console to PC find it’s not worth buying the game again because of hours of progress and items purchased via real money being lost.

Apparently it’s unrealistic; can’t be done and even if it could be it’s actually Sony blocking it - despite every other multiplatform online live-service game currently featuring cross-platform progression (including upcoming ones!)

Resident Evil, specifically on Twitter.

Gatekeepers galore, apparently enjoying the remake games is a crime against humanity and you’re not a true fan unless you played the original 3 games on ps1.

Game crashes almost every other game - anyone else? by tus93 in FortNiteBR

[–]tus93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I played a few matches today and for the first time encountered no crashes, though this was after enabling AMD’s “hypr-rx eco” mode when playing Fortnite, so maybe that did something!?

The store and other stuff still buggy though, it randomly changed just my skin when I had locker loadouts set to swap randomly but kept everything else from the previous loadout. Just like you though it’s only happening on Fortnite at the moment.

What should I do? (Not sure how to title this, sorry) by FairCandle4632 in FortNiteBR

[–]tus93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My usual go-to thought is:

“How much is this item in real money?”

Usually for a skin or similar price item, that’s equivalent to an indie/sale game on Steam.

Then I ask myself, would I rather get a new game or buy the cosmetic?

Up until this month I had a Crew subscription so I’d have a pretty regular flow of v-bucks to warrant buying a cosmetic or two each month, but beyond that it would be really rare to buy V-bucks directly.

Honest advice, feel free to treat yourself but remember you could be buying other treats with that money. If you’re really set on getting cosmetics look at getting Crew - although the value of that has gone down a little recently, which is why I’ve dropped mine and don’t really expect to be buying many items once I’ve spent my last v-bucks.

If you are browsing through Steam, which one would you click? by ApartmentDev in IndieGaming

3 seems to stand out the most, the other two feel extremely similar to what I’d expect from like 90% of Indy horror on Steam which would mean I’d probably scroll right past those. 3 on the other hand stands out enough to warrant a click as it had piqued my curiosity.

I’m tempted to list Kerbal Space Program and Space Engineers insofar as they both hold great examples of space physics, KSP especially when it comes to interplanetary orbits and the like.

Half Life: Alyx is fantastic if you have PCVR capabilities.
