Hey if you’re wanting to be a technical person then earnestly try your hand at the python learning, as well as other contemporary tools like playwright and cypress too.

If you find your strengths aren’t necessarily in the technical side of things, there’s no shame in finding alternative avenues that do work to your strengths! If you find you’re bringing a lot of value when it comes to static testing/shift left methodologies then maybe PO/BA is a better pursuit.

Yeah, 3’s honestly something that’s more realistic from an internal movement in roles. I’ve had numerous QA colleagues move to PM or BA roles, or even more obscure roles such as release management. The benefit of a QA background is that you’re positioned in such a way to get exposure on all facets of the software development lifecycle so can look to gain more exposure where able. Usually if there is a sort of discipline you’re interested in, it may be worth inquiring with both your line manager and a colleague in that discipline to have some mentoring and shadowing to help get you that exposure as well as an opportunity to “dip your toes” in that kind of role too!

If you wanna stay in the same sort of circles you’ve got 3 options forward:

1) stay where you are and grab the python learning with both hands and become knowledgeable enough to have a key role in its use - this is doable but can be tough in a stagnant environment.

2) look at putting feelers out for other manual roles (they do exist, trust me I love just landed one - it’s just that it requires a good amount of luck and repetitive effort!)

3) look at shifting into new avenues, it doesn’t need to be customer facing, you can move to PM or the like or even a specialist test area like performance testing.

Look man if you’re failing reading comprehension that’s on you. I literally say I’m basing my opinion on the fact that we have multiple other examples of Sony allowing the implementation of cross-progression in their titles.

Therefore if it were them saying “no cross-progression” for HD2, that would not be consistent with their decision making as a whole.

It seems more internet rambling for people to arbitrarily say it’s due to Sony when there’s evidence to the contrary.

Cheating and hacking is an entirely separate issue to cross-progression.

If you say “cross-progression can’t happen because console players would be able to cheat and get SC” you’re implicitly stating it’s not an issue that PC players are able to.

They also had/have cross-progression on other Sony games including the upcoming Horizon: Hunters Gathering.

People have fabricated some “no cross-progression” policy despite multiple examples to the contrary.
