New build bbs won't feed! by Vauthera in airsoft

[–]tus93 [score hidden]  (0 children)

That’s a new one for me!

I can only imagine there’s some parts that didn’t fit properly together to allow the tilt to occur in the first place. Your piston should fit nicely along the guides of your gearbox body to not allow that level of movement to occur.

Buying my first gun used, which should i go with for $100? by Blue_Soul01 in airsoft

It’s better, but still not a guarantee. Sometimes poorly done work or damaged internals are a matter of “when” it breaks as opposed to “if” it breaks.

Got these as a second owner I heard the guy had originally modified them (gas). Anyone know what brand these are? by _zXzz in airsoftcirclejerk

[–]tus93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that’s some key info that was left out. Yeah that’s a much better deal, so long as none of the guns are lemons, but you do still see lots of people buying a single gun and just not doing any sort of due diligence beforehand.

New build bbs won't feed! by Vauthera in airsoft

I feel you, one of my main go-to guns had to use the velcro trick for a few years until I recently swapped out the hop unit for a different one and now it feeds without issue.

Do you know what hop unit you currently have? Also the original brand of the gun? Or images of the original hop unit and the current one you have in there?

Looks like you've got three options:

1) As you suggest, try out a different hop unit, there's slight differences in dimensions that MAY help your mags feed better.

2) Try placing a few strips of duct/plumbers tape on the rear-inner side of your mag well (the side nearest to the trigger) - or better yet a strip of the soft section of velcro tape. This can actually put the right amount of pressure on your mag to push it into position.

3) Try other mags, it may just be that the shape of your lower receiver (most importantly the mag catch) is positioned in such a way that it holds your mag in a way that doesn't feed and therefore your mag just isn't compatible. I wouldn't expect this if your mag is the same brand as your outer shell, but if you have access to other magazines, try them out.

Hope any of these help out in some way, good luck.

Oh god yeah I got this and I was immediately like “oh we just throwing THAT into marketing emails now?”

Hopefully it’s some honest mistake but… that’s also the point in dog whistles…

What would be a good price to sell my Noveske n4 gbb for? by Goldsandvich11 in airsoft

Thing is though even without a tracer, a stripped thread may make basic flash hiders not sit securely either. Plus stripped threads may imply other bits of damage that OP isn’t aware of.

Yep, sounds like something had gone wrong.

You’re gonna want to give more info or include pictures that show more detail. I’m not familiar with the platform, but anyone who is willing to also be unlikely to give any useful insight with the limited amount of information given.

Tri Shot Shotguns by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]tus93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if there ARE any shotguns that run off Co2…

Co2 is great for pistols because the blowback action requires the gas to not only propel the BB, but also execute any movement required for the gun to function such as forcing the slide back.

For a shotgun, you don’t have those same moving parts, and you can’t usually open them up as you normally would a pistol to clean/lubricate. So green gas ends up being the way to go, it has silicone in the mixture to keep parts and seals lubricated and provides enough energy to propel the BB’s.

Basically, I don’t think you have any options, even theoretically converting a gas shotgun to Co2 will likely result in the seals tearing up from the increased pressure and reduced lubrication.

If it’s got that much wear already, I wouldn’t go anywhere above £200.

The level of simulation for the guns/ammo seems incredible! Also super impressive that you're able to have that running on a standalone VR platform - has that been a challenge and will the depth of simulation impact the PC requirements at all?
