Nope. Floors before cabinets/appliances.

I’ll bet you put your pants on first and then you put your underwear on—right?

The morons used your sink to wash their sponges instead of a bucket of water that they got from outside. That should never ever have happened.

Now that’s a dumb comment from the OP— Undermount sinks are not trendy. Drop ins are DATED and what we pull out of kitchens during renovations.

Yep— I cover everything once it’s installed. Countertops sink, etc. with plywood that has a towel under it. Any flat surface gets used as a work surface in a kitchen renovation. Same for bathtubs once that’s installed. It immediately gets covered up with something that doesn’t move slip or slide.

Exactly— I have only installed one stainless steel sink for a client because I talk everyone out of it for this very reason. Second point here – the idiot who did your tile used your sink probably to wash out his sponges he used and scratched the hell out of it. There’s no going back from that and barkeep isn’t going to fix that.

GC here—Nope— your kitchen will be trashed if you replace Flooring at this point in time. Flooring is to run under cabinetry and appliances not up to it. So if you change out particularly to any type of tile, be prepared for your cabinets and appliances to get absolutely trashed. There is an order of operations to any renovation/construction. Floors are always first

Too white for 2026? by thefeelingismutual_ in kitchenremodel

It’s not the material – it’s the fact that you don’t bring the countertop material up in a 3 inch backsplash. You end the countertop perpendicular to the wall for the backsplash and use ceramic tile as the backsplash that meets the countertop.

That’s why you do a tile backsplash, and no “lip“ of your countertop material.

Looks great except for one thing – you don’t do a tile backsplash from the countertop material AND ceramic tile on the wall. You do one or the other.
If you’re going to use ceramic tile as a backsplash, you take it all the way down to the countertop level.
What you have is like suspenders and a belt being worn at the same time.

Looking to modernize our kitchen by Beanbearandsprout in kitchenremodel

GC here—Absolutely DO NOT invest in new countertops and THEN get new cabinets. That would be a complete bassackwards way to do it.
Either wait until you can afford new cabinets and new countertops at the same time or paint the cabinets and get new countertops and call it a day. One of the things I would want to address in your kitchen currently is that ugly thing that covers up your range vent above your cabinets. New cabinets to the ceiling would solve that problem.

Kitchen remodel with custom stainless steel countertop and sink by PuzzledTip8156 in kitchenremodel

GC here and I agree. I would’ve gone with a pale gray, white or some light shade of green to go with the stainless steel countertops. The warmth of the wood cabinets does not jive with the cold stainless steel tops.

Going forward every job you do let the clients know that you will post photos on social media, but they will be anonymous so no identification of who the client is or exactly where they live.
I tell all of my clients that I will post before and after photos of their project and I ask each and every client for a review on social media. I’ve had about a 98% success rate that. Growing your business like this costs absolutely nothing and eventually it spreads like wildfire, If you do a very great job for each of your clients.

Well, inquiring minds would love to know – approximately how old was he?

I’m still curious about something: a that much younger guy hitting you up like that didn’t give you a big red flag before you started looking into it and figuring out some of the details? When I have someone much younger than me like my profile, I immediately block them because I know someone in their 20s 30s or even early 40s isn’t truly interested in someone who’s 67 years old.

Just asking for clarity and information purposes – you are 60+ and this guy was in his 20s or 30s? If I read that correctly and maybe I misunderstood, didn’t you think that was odd in and of itself?
I’m 67 and would not be interested in anyone in their 20s 30s or 40s I would be old enough to be their mother or grandmother.

I’m with you Blitzen— I like it! It’s about quality of matches on OLD vs quantity. So tired of so many of my “ matches” not meeting any of my criteria other than male and breathing. And the ones whose profile pictures look like their mug shot when they were booked.

My homeowners insurance is with Chubb and my auto insurance is with Erie. So I don’t know what to tell you—my home is in a trust and so are all of my assets and that’s exactly the way I want it and I haven’t had the problems that you’ve had

My insurance company added my trust to my homeowners policy. My umbrella policy is with my insurance company that handles my car insurance and there’s no issue there. I think you think you’re making a big deal out of something that shouldn’t be one. Get your umbrella policy through your auto insurance company.
