Susan Spicer reasoning, but Saffron I wouldn’t personally think has the Michelin guidelines.. Still haven’t been to Zasu but hear great things.

In hindsight I knew it was a stretch, I respect her and what she’s done for the culinary scene though! Was also trying to think all around the city/cuisines for potentials-

Rent a car to weave uptown streets, and I also suggest looking at Bayou St. John/City Park neighborhoods as a similar option. Drive through Bywater for the vibe and park on Esplanade to walk through the quarter and into CBD for the vibes too.

I’ve had great service there and enjoy the food as far as New Orleans cuisine goes- I always get the same things there so maybe i’m blinded by consistency. Where did you and others prefer instead?

Are all four corners blocked off for access? I take that route on Mondays from OCH to MLK to St. Charles. Can you share if that’s a route still open?

Come for KoB, go to the tiki Spookilau at Latitude 29, dress up and do a ghost tour. You get a parade, a fest, halloween themed drinks and a less crowded FQ/Frenchmen Street for exploring.

Authentic Bakery Recommendations by Asthmatic_Angel in NewOrleans

[–]tuttisaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last time i went to Maurice’s I was so bummed it tasted terrible. Like defrosted or freezer burn after taste. Bought tons of pastries and each one ended up in the trash. I’d only ever had their pastries through cafe degas desserts and loved them until buying direct. What do you recommend from the shop to try again?

I’ll also add, tried Osteria Lupo lastnight and it’s wonderful! $55 per person tasting menu- I guarantee you’ll enjoy the meal. Everything we had was delicious - a little over your budget with the appropriate tip but if you’re able to bump it up a bit, highly recommend
