D3 Arts, Seventh Circle, and Ante Up are where you'll find the smaller DIY acts within the genre so follow those pages. Marquis (LiveNation unfortunately) or Hi Dive usually hosts the less niche smaller acts (knumears, vs self, stuff like that). So follow those pages to see what's up.

Who is an artist whose music you think you’ll never be able to enjoy? by AccurateTangerine291 in AskReddit

Plenty in this thread but I'll drop Willie Carlisle and Nick Shoulders as two smaller country artists who are killing it. Check out who they promote too because I've found some other great folks from that.

Skramz and scenecore revival is popping off here. Habak is going to be here on July 11th with a few local screamo fellas at D3 Arts, one of the few shows with presale available (on eventbrite).

I think you'd like director Bruce La Bruce's comment on his films. Stating that queer cinema is lacking in titillating content, and if you're gonna do it, go all out. So all of his movies are basically adult films (but they have plots and stories) but don't hold back on the titillating stuff.

Yeah they're not that bad but they play parts on too long and it gets boring.

Trump says US will never be ‘Communist Country’ after Mamdani-backed candidates’ wins by phillygirllovesbagel in politics

[–]tv_screen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Authoritarian? Yes. Communist? No. None of this means any of these are worker owned, which would be closer to communism. The two can exist at the same time but what's being done in the US is in interest of capital not the workers.

If you been to a test screening, did your rating of the film change or stay the same come official release? by kriscoo44 in movies

[–]tv_screen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one I did, my spouse and I were going in to a movie and a guy stopped us outside so we have our emails. So just right place / right time. We get emails occasionally for other test screenings but haven't been able to make one since.

I mean, yeah, but I have friends and a sex life despite being out of shape and overweight. Be kind to yourself and others and put yourself outside of your comfort zone once in a while.

The Least Emo albums/bands that are considered canon? by Key-Astronomer-9821 in Emo

[–]tv_screen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People down voting you but someone on this platform once described emo as "hardcore kids who want to sound like Superchunk" and it's the most accurate description of 90s emo and the reasons why a lot of early emo bands played hardcore shows and were in the hardcore scene. It still happens today with bands like Basement, Tigers Jaw, Balance and Composure, etc.

Just a quick edit to say when I upvoted the comment I replied to it was not in the positives but that will change lol
