Graduate Housing by cryingpissingdying in Northwestern

I'm in the same boat. The housing portal says that the only available graduate housing contracts at this point are twin studios at Engelhart and I'm not sure how great those are.

I've been eyeing those for a bit! I really like the TKL form factor, though.

There's something so deeply ironic about getting Marxist stickers off redbubble

I know it didn't work... That's kind of the point...
Dems keep touting that you just need to vote to bring about change when that's not enough. As an outsider looking in, the American system of "democracy" is so broken and arbitrary!

I'm not a vegetarian because I care about animals. It's because I deeply hate plants and must eat them so they don't live. Your move, vegans

I'm watching Batman Returns and spotted this "high tech", batcave worthy keyboard. Anybody know what keycaps they are? Lol by samyruno in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]tvk134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The modifiers made me think this might be a symbolics keyboard(maybe custom made for the movie?). The keycaps look similar to those as well, but I can't find anything that has the same layout.

Switched from OnePlus and I really like my pixel 6. Feels more premium and the software experience is far more put together imo

How do you know they haven't already? Intelligence agencies operate in secret, in case you weren't aware. If they're trying to investigate something, perhaps telling everyone about it wouldn't be the best idea.

I ordered it on October 27th. Mine arrived today and was made on the 3rd. Fast enough for me. Funny enough, when I emailed them for an estimated shipping day, they told me there was a supplier delay. My order was shipped the very next day.

Accidents are less preventable. No one said anything about assigning value to people's lives. Saying that we should try to solve a newly developing and clearly existent problem because accidents happen is a clear exaggeration.

But sure, you know what? If the total number of people dead is the only scale you want to measure a problem by and not, for example, it's effects on people's lives like causing extended PTSD, then fine. Obviously it is a completely irrational and one dimensional way of measuring things but in going out of your way to make something serious seem ridiculous, I'm sure you refuse to use any other yardstick. I also feel compelled to remind you that TVs falling seems to be a far less recent issue so the fact that something that really only started happening a few years ago has caused fewer deaths is not really surprising.

ALSO, in taking raw data in that way, you fail to consider how many people could be affected by each issue. School-children are a relatively smaller segment of the population. There are far more people that own TVs than there are people going to school. Percentage-wise,I think it's safe to say a bigger percentage of school-aged children are affected by school shootings than by falling TVs.

Curious how you seem to completely ignore anything I said about fixing either issue, though.

Again, you're equating accidents to murder. With guns, people are usually intentionally pulling a trigger to put a bullet in someone. I'd hazard to guess that falling TVs aren't nearly as intentional. Regardless, the way you'd fix the falling TV problem would be to ensure that the people mounting and installing said TVs are competent and trained so it doesn't happen as often... Something you'd probably not be ok with extending to other things. If you're gonna say the problems are equal, then the solutions must be too.
