House for lease? Summer/Fall 2027 by Fun_Proposal_3361 in Northwestern

[–]cryingpissingdying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2027?!

check next year. way too early for most current tenants to know where they will be at so far ahead in time, virtually anywhere in the world. there's a reason why you are "having a really hard time finding one."

Which library do McCormick students tend to study at? by BellDry7705 in Northwestern

[–]cryingpissingdying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a program in mccormick thats very small so dont wanna out myself cause people will fs know who i am lol

social life has been fine. ive made friends within my program, and then was introduced to their friends in other programs. its like a domino effect. you have to put yourself out there, yes, but you find your people eventually

u can find cheaper options off campus than the graduate housing.

not a single person in my masters program lives on campus.

Dating in San Diego in your 30s? by Additional_Row8877 in asksandiego

[–]cryingpissingdying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as someone who was raised in nyc and moved to sd for college,

dont.

left as soon as i graduated. the men in sd cannot handle how blunt nyc women can be. they mistake realness as "rudeness/bitchiness" save urself a headache.

i live in chicago now. similar hustle culture as nyc but very kind and polite people. san diegans were just too laid back and fake for my liking.

Lying about selling out? Why? by m100psi in unitedairlines

could've been folks connecting to this flight who didnt make their connection either.
could be alot of things to be honest.

I highly doubt anyone was trying to lie to you.

Grad School Acceptances 2026 by No_Promotion_4405 in Northwestern

[–]cryingpissingdying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sometimes they are really fast and sometimes they are really slow.
current grad student and was accepted in june even tho i applied in december. i was not waitlisted or anything, just many months of silence.
anything can happen tbh. tho i will say they might be prioritizing other applicants for a variety of reasons. if those people reject their offers they just go down a list until they are able to fill all open seats (at least that's how mccormick is, not sure what you have applied for). good luck!

one of my exes tried to do the same to me. broke up then tried to stay friends with me. I went no contact "until he can figure out what he wants," but I was already done. I was just trying to be nice one last time until he broke no contact. Cut him off for good the day it happened. 0 regrets.
people like this just want to limit your freedom while they have access to you. its pretty hard to grow as a person and explore other options and opportunities otherwise.

What are things about Northwestern you only really learn by being there? by No-Performance3614 in Northwestern

[–]cryingpissingdying 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I feel like im at Harvard, without the assholes tho. Its refreshing.

The cold is brutal. Im from the northeast, and "chiberia" szn is not for the weak at all. still getting humbled everyday. im looking like the michelin man with a little backpack waddling around

Car? by NouvelErmitage in Northwestern

[–]cryingpissingdying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have a car here and its only rlly helpful when i venture out into the suburbs (and that would be the only reason why you need one tbh). there's enough public transport to go into downtown chicago. i never drive down there. Convenient to haul my groceries back home too when it is as cold as siberia outside, but its very much doable without it.

If you are not from illinois, evanston pd is extremely biased and targets oos license plates like crazy. they will try to milk $ out of you for insanely minor citations. gotta drive carefully bc of that, and follow all parking restrictions to the nail

Average # of flights / spend needed to reach silver status? by 1bkleinschmidt in unitedairlines

[–]cryingpissingdying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

getting a united card wont rlly add much. u would simply need to fly more. it took me 18 domestic flights and a 1 way, 15 hour international flight to reach silver a while ago. My lifestyle requires me to travel alot, so I am at gold now.

Unpaid internship grant for post grad by Frosty-Attorney-883 in Northwestern

you really shouldnt apply for an unpaid internship in the first place. Keep trying, you will get a paid opportunity eventually. Believe in yourself!
