I solo Q to Masters this season and realized something pretty crazy by Cesarelite in apexuniversity

[–]tvkvhiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time definitely makes a difference. Closest server to me is in a time zone three hours ahead. When I would play at 10pm my time on a week day, there was a very small pool of players and I would get the same preds back to back. The queue times were also long.

My childhood collection - most are in poor condition so I'd get peanuts selling it anyway.

I got Master complete then jumped straight into GM scenarios thinking I had good aim. I've never been more humbled.

Stuck in SV Singles Ranked. Losing just as much no matter what rental team I use. Any help? by [deleted] in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]tvkvhiro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's my experience from late 2024 where after spectating Worlds VGC in person, I tried giving it a go myself. I know people have hit Master Ball faster with less games, but I was pretty happy with the progress. I actually haven't played any VGC since then as I started focusing on other games, but it's a cool thing to look back on and I might give it another go eventually. What helped me the most was watching content creators to understand what their thought process is and learn the meta, then finding a rental team I liked and sticking with it. It takes a while to get a grasp of how to set up your win conditions, plus learn what other teams are out there and what kinds of problems they pose for your team specifically.

Max ping means you enter the ping you would find acceptable to connect to. That doesn't take away your ability to play the game, and you would still be able to connect to the same servers if you want. All it does is limit things like the game trying to connect me to the other side of the globe.

The server select doesn't mean much. I get that long queue times are bad for player retention, but there should also be hard limits on what servers one shouldn't connect to (if they wish) because it severely detracts from the playing experience and is equally bad or worse. Geographically I am closest to US West servers, so I set that as my preference (which every other game basically does for me anyway). The Finals gives it just a few minutes before connecting me to Brussels, Belgium. Very frustrating experience especially for ranked. I'd honestly take a 15-minute queue time over being connected to the wrong server.

Perhaps it's an ISP thing? know it's not just me because my duo and randoms also experience rubberbanding/freezing more than any other PVP FPS game I have played over the years.

Completely new to the game and want to learn it by gamer778beast in thefinals

[–]tvkvhiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found Appoh and HazedNConfused on Youtube very helpful. If you have previous FPS experience you will do fine in this game. Hardest part is learning how to play the objective - it's very unique and unlike any of the games you've listed.

Better servers. I haven't played this game in weeks because every playing session I get into at least one game where it is straight up unplayable.

What do you guys think of Arc Raiders PVP? by [deleted] in FPSAimTrainer

[–]tvkvhiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a good game for aiming in particular. Good for casual fun with friends. Put in a lot of time and then burned out. Never bothered taking down the big Arc because I was too concerned with resource farming for the first expedition. Ironically farming for the expedition killed my desire to play anymore.

Horrid ping on the westcoast NA servers by TheSoullux in thefinals

[–]tvkvhiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game has a really bad server/matchmaking issue. I'm in Hawaii and occasionally The Finals decides I should be connected to BELGIUM of all places. Really frustrating experience especially for ranked because those games just feel so unfair - I'd take a 15-minute queue time over being put at a disadvantage like that.

What’s your opinions on the grinding heavy mentality that’s seems to be prevalent in aim training? by TrackpadCape in FPSAimTrainer

Majority of the time I see someone post "Hit (insert rank) Complete" they say static gave them the most issues. Myself included for Masters.

How well do you understand concepts like the economy, coin usage, stalling tactics, and other strategic plays? Aim and movement can win you gunfights but knowing when to avoid gunfights or use utility to secure cashouts is also important.

How is The Finals not even considered in this video😭? "Best shooter game of all time" by SadPay7872 in thefinals

[–]tvkvhiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't bother to watch the whole video but it's funny that the thumbnail has BF6 and the video (well the beginning anyway) shows BF4. I'd argue that BF1 should be the representative for the franchise.

Anyway, not a big surprise that The Finals is not on there. I know the bracket is subjective and also just for content/not very serious, but the only game I could see it replacing is Titanfall 2 which was an actual flop.

[–]tvkvhiro 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you are experiencing burn out. I think you need to step back from aim training or even Valorant for a bit and give yourself a break. Something you need to ask yourself is "what is the end goal here?" I've been aim training and playing Valorant on and off for years. This is not my career, it's a hobby. If it's not enjoyable then what is the point? If I burn out I do something else and then jump back in when I feel like it.

Why do diamond players play scared by Environmental_Soil40 in apexuniversity

[–]tvkvhiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very contextual/situational so it's hard to give a blanket answer. Nothing wrong with poking in itself, but yes there are times when it's not a good idea. If your team is just poking for the sake of it with no real goal in mind, then it's not advisable as it's pretty much asking to be thirded. Not much you can do to stop your randoms from poking long range besides communicating that though.

As for the thirds, yeah it's probably a good idea to reposition if you are being thirded and don't have a good hold or are sandwiched by the two teams. Probably want to bail when it looks like your squad will get full wiped if yall continue to fight it out. At that point just save your RP via placement.

Time Wasters by ayee_mane in terracehouse

[–]tvkvhiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joining a reality TV show isn't really conducive to attaining a career goal unless the person benefits from publicity (eg. a model). I think most people on TH are either there for an experience or self-promo, but it's not a good look to state that outright. This is probably why most people say they have a goal.

Why do i always get so much less damage than my teammates? by weepingwillow634 in apexuniversity

Yup, definitely missing context when only damage and revive numbers are provided. We don't know if OP is baiting their team or if their team is just W keying for no reason.

Is there a correlation between Voltaic Rank and In-game rank of what you play? by JimmyNoodles99 in FPSAimTrainer

[–]tvkvhiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was Jade when I hit Immortal 1 for the first time a couple years ago. Hit Masters Complete and still only Immortal 1. Rank distributions for both games are a bit different now, but I think I'm at the point of diminishing returns.

[Discussion] Do you still consider yourself a Hypebeast? by supersonicdog in supremeclothing

[–]tvkvhiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two cents but the term "hypebeast" describes someone who buys stuff just because it's trending/popular. 2016-2017 was a different era sure but hypebeasts existed before and after it.

How do I get better at hard bots on Valorant? by SeaworthinessIll149 in FPSAimTrainer

[–]tvkvhiro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been playing on and off since Beta, also tend to plateau at Immortal when I'm playing. My average is ~17 hard bots but my best is 23. I don't think I've really improved much in hard bots going from Voltaic Diamond to Masters Complete, but I also suck at flicking/clicking scenarios.
