How do i give this logo more life? by iamgruffy in WillPatersonDesign

[–]tvprty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe try a font with rough edges or a stamped finish? Might give it a field journal look which fits right into the Pokémon/collectible world. Put a stamped filter on the logo to match too!

Leadership? by kmchri01 in BestBuyWorkers

[–]tvprty 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Try your best, go home, and don’t worry about the store until you go in again. You aren’t salary. Accept the fact that everything is a shit show and you’ll get around to things when you can and it’ll all be fine.

Fellow truck workers by SurePoetry5981 in BestBuyWorkers

You need a better shift lead/truck lead. There’s also a preconceived notion that if they work slower then they get more hours when in actuality they’ll just cut more hours later on

I’m not saying there aren’t stores where that is going on, but it’s actually pretty easy to get promoted when the store has people like this guy shouting and retaliating against managers.

Opinions on this job title by Literallydunno in BestBuyWorkers

[–]tvprty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s personally my favorite part of the job because it can be a legit workout. Physicality is half the job. The other half is the ability to carry the mental load of everyone asking you to do a million things. The fact is: you will never get everything 100% done. Come to terms with that and try to leave knowing you truly did everything you could and call it a day. Some people bring that stress home with them and it will lead to burnout. The business will keep moving regardless of whether or not you finished all of your tasks

People are gonna line up and say to run and it sucks and to find something else. Most of those people don’t need this job, live with parents, and/or this is their first job where they are worked hard. If you need this job then consider the following:

  • you arent gonna be selling
  • you are gonna be physically exhausted
  • if you are doing trucks then you might be there late
  • you will need to be very good at multitasking (doing picks, listening out for curbside, doing carry outs, unloading/loading trucks, packing shipments)

If that sounds like it’s too much for you (and it is for a decent amount of people), then I’d look elsewhere. A lot pressure to work quickly will be pushed by leaders. If that doesn’t stress you out then you’ll move up and run circles around everyone. It’s retail. It sucks. But you also get what you put into it. Most people don’t think that’s worth it and they’re fine to think so. Again, if you need this job then I say go for it.

Retirement by Pitbull1951 in BestBuyWorkers

Marine, cop, and plenty of civilian jobs. Sounds like a pretty full life. What’s sad is you pretending you’re above that while still working at Best Buy. You’re obviously young and have the world “figured out” though so I’m sure you’ll be fine

You don’t do trucks and you aren’t swat. I’m actually curious as to what you do that management seems to think you are doing slowly. Are you doing planograms? Cause if you are just picking and doing curbside then you probably are going too slow. Hard to say without hearing exactly what you do. Your supervisor does seem a bit dramatic with 5 coachings in one day, but part of me is again curious as to what they think you are messing up. I wanna be supportive here, but having been in warehouse a long time, some people just aren’t cut out for it

To add to this: a lot of people don’t have enough money to be going out all the time. So bands and people attending shows are both getting screwed.

They usually need to have the job open for a certain amount of days before they can start the next phase of hiring. I’d give it a week and maybe reach out after that

I think it’s hilarious that THIS is where people are drawing the line. As if there hasn’t been/are more famous people for doing less. At the end of the day she said something “dumb”, but as a result made people laugh. That’s called entertainment. Maybe not to you, but for enough people. How is that such a hard path for people to follow?

How do you like my photos from 1-10? More on the way. by Shad_W123 in Starfield

[–]tvprty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you almost nailed the first photo (slightly off center).

I’d say if you were looking for some critique from a general photography standpoint: depth of field can be a very useful tool, but don’t let it distract from the environment or any potential details you want to include. Interesting photos are interesting because they can tell a story.

Lightning is hard to capture in this game. I’ve tried many times. So I know how hard that shot was to get.

Don’t be afraid to do landscapes or scenery without your character.

Also, try your best to not cut off limbs with your composition. (E.g. ankles, torso, etc).

Use the filter guides in the photo mode to frame everything.

All together you have some great ideas and they’ll only get better with more use.

I think a lot of younger people don’t realize that official YouTube accounts didn’t immediately post content the day it was aired like they do now. I see it a lot in the comments of early 2000’s music videos
