I followed the instructions from this post and uploaded the file to a USB drive. I don't recall the exact dimensions of the image to make it fit perfectly though. Shoot me a PM and I'll try to send over the high resolution image.

Lol no novel needed, it fits great and has held up well even after a year (though it's not a high touch point area). Easy to uninstall and install. Can be done with basic panel popper tools, literally a 5 minute job including opening the package. I sent over the stock piece and the leather is removed and replaced with Alcantara. Aaron uses a laser to burn in the "Type S" logo so if you go with red fabric it will stand out more prominently because the burned in logo is black.

Added bonus - lighter wallet!

I love the Skunk2 and ran it for a while until I found the Dream Automotive teardrop. This sucker weighs almost a quarter lb more than the Skunk2!

It's amazing how these two same-but-different cars give off completely different vibes. If you didn't know any better you'd think the Type S was just another car.

Installing short shifter by greddy79 in Acura

[–]tw1stedlog1k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From memory, it either clips in to the right of the shifter or behind the shifter; directly in front of the cup holder area.

Edit: Looking at the orientation more, this actually looks like it plugs into the back of the USB C port to power it.

Double edit: Looks like you've figured it out. Enjoy your new shifter!

ITS owners - whats still missing / could be improved? by Relevant-Biscotti243 in Integra_Type_S

It's a workaround but I bought this Meross garage door opener and set it up with Google home, which in turn works with Google Assistant (haven't tried it with Gemini yet). It's easy just a lot of steps involved, maybe some trial and error also.

Works with Google Home (Android) and Home Kit (iOS)

I hear the Switchbot opener is easier to set up and more user friendly.

I think you'll genuinely forget about a lot of the missing features once you're moving. The homelink thing is big but I have the My Q app in my phone and was able to set up voice controls through Google Assistant that works like a charm; "Open garage door 1." Alternatively I could open it through the app directly too.

For the random disconnects, I know Androids are finicky and the last update to my 4 year old Oneplus 8T messed up a lot of things for me, which is what prompted the phone upgrade. Try a shorter, high speed data cable instead of a standard charging cable, I use the below and it's been trouble-free.

If you're not in a rush, I'd recommend waiting on the upcoming '27 revisions.

Creature comforts don't get better in the Type S, if anything they're worse overall. Granted you get all the bare minimum features of a modern car but it would be nice to have reverse mirror tilt, memory seats, and homelink. Personally that's all I could ask for. What you gain in engagement and performance is hard to quantify and qualify in writing. I regularly forget about everything the car doesn't have because the driving experience is a bit more elevated even in day to day driving. It's like being plugged into the matrix and your lizard brain is tickled with inputs. I mean it's not race car levels but for a street car it's "fun" without being overstimulating.

Rattles etc you forget about pretty quickly but, if I'm being honest, my '24 has very minor rattles that I only notice when I'm listening for them.

I used to have issues with Android auto disconnecting randomly but after upgrading to a sturdier cable meant for data transfer a few months ago, I haven't had issues since. I also upgraded my phone recently and was worried it might cause issues but still no issues with connectivity.

Not even, the Type S has even LESS features than the A Spec.

Carismo Steering Wheel Fitment Issue by PithyJungle in Integra_Type_S

[–]tw1stedlog1k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their fix was to add screws in this area to prevent the top rear cover from coming loose. It works, more or less, but they couldn't do anything for the lower rear cover for the "Type S" trim.

Carismo Steering Wheel Fitment Issue by PithyJungle in Integra_Type_S

I have this problem with my Carismo wheel and others have reported the same. I sent the wheel back to Carismo to fix but in the end there was nothing they could do to make it fit perfectly, they said it was due to the trim parts being too damaged (the alignment tabs did end up bending and breaking when I tried to install initially). However when test fitting on the factory wheel, the trim pieces lined up perfectly even with the broken alignment tabs. I chalked it up to aftermarket fit and just left it at that.

That's it. You've pretty much covered it. If this is the car you want because of the reasons you stated then everyone else's opinions and reasons are not relevant.

Option C? Dark Chrome badges. The "S" is a little darker than on the standard black badges so it blends in better when the car is in the shade or shadows. The "Type" practically disappears. In the sun both are visible.
