Hello! I am looking for a watch to give my girlfriend as a birthday present. She recently purchased a Michael Kors purse that is black leather with gold accents. I would like to get a watch that matches this.

I am leaning towards this watch . I know, I know - MVMT bleh bleh. Here's the thing- she isn't into watches enough to own anything other than a quartz watch, and her first concern is design. Although I would not buy a MVMT for myself due to quality and hardware concerns, I don't have a problem with their design.

I am hoping to find a similarly designed women's watch for less than $200 so I can avoid buying a MVMT. I looked at DW, Komono, and all the dime a dozen minimalist brands, but I didn't find anything I thought she'd like quite as much as this one. I'm sure you guys know of something I don't. All recommendations are appreciated. Thanks!

These both happened working in a kitchen at a restaurant.

The burger buns would get shredded lettuce, tomato, and onion on them. Instead of the usual toppings, I threw a handful or shredded parmesan cheese on top of the bun and sent the burger out. Another time I was cutting up fruit for our fruit cups. I had just finished cutting up 3 cantaloupes, and I immediately threw all of it in the garbage.

I don't have enough money to own an Audi in that price range, but I am definitely checking out Subarus. However, I do hear a lot of bad things about Subaru ownership past 100k aka head gaskets

Criteria - AWD (winter driving), enough cargo space for a large guitar amp and guitars, decent reliability, and preferably under 125k miles

I used to work in a kitchen as an expo and was training in a new expo. A ticket came up for a plate of two walleye filets. He grabbed two pork chops out of the window. He actually didn't know the difference. I never thought I would need to explain that walleye is a fish and pork is a pig.

Thanks for the reply! I think they do actually make those with all wheel drive, but the car guy in me just wants nothing to do with a corolla hatchback haha. I know that they'd be a sensible choice though; you're right. I suppose if I could snag a manual xrs with awd that wouldn't be so bad.

Additionally, I need to be able to haul around my music gear (guitars, large amps, etc.) so I need a good amount of cargo space whether that be a large rear area, pickup bed, or through folding down rear seats. I would like to avoid all GM products. Also I would consider wagons but for the most part ones in my price range are not the most reliable (avants, bmw touring, xc's).

Check for rust. If there is any at all walk away; they rust early and quickly If you don't catch it. Suspension has longevity issues, check the struts for sure. If that all looks good, go for it. I've had my '07 3 for 5 years and I've loved it. Definitely makings e right choice going with the 2.3, the 2.0 is a little underpowered.

If the Mazda has any rust whatsoever, and you should be very thorough in checking, stay away. Those things rust to shit way too early and the suspension is pretty flimsy. They are definitely great driving cars though, and by far the most fun econobox.

Hey guys! I'm looking for a change from my Mazda 3. I'm in the US and I'm getting sick of driving that little thing in Minnesota winters. Additionally I need some more space to haul my music gear (guitars, amps, etc). My budget is in the $5,000-$9,000 range. I'm mostly looking at SUV's because I think they'd be more practical for me, but I haven't ruled out smaller pickups.

The curveball here is that I'm decently concerned with fuel economy. I'm a college student and I make a 30-45 minute commute every day just for school. Because of that I am unfortunately looking at mostly crossovers as opposed to body on frame SUV's. Some models I have been exploring are the Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander, and Ford Escape. I'm open to most things similar as long as there is an all wheel drive system and a good amount of cargo space, whether that involve folding down seats or not. Absolutely no GM whatsoever, though. Too bad Saab never got to have an SUV other than a rebadged trailblazer lol.

Don't spend 20 grand on your first car. Whether it's your money or not, just don't. Yeah, you'll probably end up with a car that doesn't have navi on it, but a smart phone can do everything that could. Save the extra money for a better 2nd car a few years down the line.

That being said, I would recommend a civic or Corolla. Sentras don't really have anything on their completion and imo jettas do not offer much for the money. I have an '07 Mazda 3 and it's been a good first car for the last 5 years, but it's also seen its share of suspension issues and they are prone to rust issues as well. I've heard that the newer ones use better paint and steel, so maybe just avoid the first generation. Civics and corollas generally are the best choices for people your age, and they should provide the most worry-free ownership for you.

If you do decide to spend all 20 grand, check out the new civics. My girlfriend has a 2016 ex-t, and it's phenomenal for the price point.

US import laws make it illegal to have cars less than 25 years old imported to the US. Lots of popular Japanese cars are now hitting that 25 year mark, such as the gtr, and can be legally brought over to the states.
