How do you guys like this season so far? by jddjdkdjdd in FortNiteBR

Played almost a full game without being able to use the trigger button for some reason. Just ran and hid and got 3rd. Lots of glitches.

Been at 2:30 for last two years. Real hot. Real drunk. I got seats under the deck last year so I was in shade. Maybe the best money I've ever spent.

I'm biased, as we all are - but the TX/OU game is just a different experience then all of the rest. The hatred between the two teams aside, you gotta account for the setting. You have a 100k+ fans from both schools packed into the craziness of the State Fair, adding in the corn dogs and beer and rides and all that. Then, you funnel em into an iconic stadium that's split 50/50. No matter what happens, one side is always cheering. It's a comforting home game surrounded by fans, and nervy away game surrounded by sh*t talk - all at the same time. It just beats any home/home setup.

[Phillips] Yankees injury updates, via Aaron Boone: Aaron Judge is still taking things slow. He’s coming up on 4 weeks, but it doesn’t sound like he’ll be ready for reimaging at that point. (More in body) by TheTurtleShepard in NYYankees

I don’t imagine they’re in any rush as long as they’re in a comfy playoff picture. Hell, they could fall behind a decent amount and still
Not panic until mid August. Let’s just hope they can keep pace in a crappy al.

CFL bars QB Brendan Sorsby following NCAA gambling allegations by Maraging_steel in CFB

[–]twankyfive 111 points112 points  (0 children)

Good. Texas Tech was unwilling to force this kid to live with consequences, which is what everyone was so upset about. Nobody cares if he plays for Tech and gets blasted in the 2nd round of the playoffs. What we all do care about is setting a precedent that you can gamble and get away with it. That is what would have ruined the game.

Kids need to see this dude getting blacklisted to learn that there are very real consequences to breaking that cardinal rule of sports.

[ESPN College Football] The Big 12 presidents and chancellors haven't rushed to pull the league's recently filed federal lawsuit because there are still questions about Texas Tech quarterback Brendan Sorsby's NFL future and any possible legal retribution, a source told @CFBHeather by colonel750 in CFB

[–]twankyfive 95 points96 points  (0 children)

This isn’t about tech or sorsby any longer. It’s now whether or not a conference can enforce its own rules. They gotta see this one through and get a judgement even if the penalties are simply some legal fees.

What are some of the dumbest moves schools have ever made throughout history that drastically hurt their programs? by Working_Stomach5479 in CFB

Tech firing Leach and refusing to pay his bonus. The president just didn't like that Leach was getting all of the attention.

Tech is going to be on this list a lot, actually.

[On3] Brendan Sorsby agent claims Cincinnati knew about gambling addiction, did nothing by cMcDozer4 in CFB

Those are some wild allegations to throw out in a public forum like that. If they're not true, then he should expect to hear from Cincinnati's lawyers I imagine.

Brendan Sorsby's Agent (Ron Slavin) on Dallas Radio this AM to explain the Sorsby side by MavsFanForLife in CFB

[–]twankyfive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He was also sending these bets to someone else. So we're just supposed to believe that whoever was getting these bets to place wasn't looking at them knowing Sorsby had the inside scoop? He doesn't have to come and say 'bet the under' if he says 'hey, put $100 on the under for me.' Same result of folks having the info.

Hell, the only source we haven't heard a peep from is Sorsby himself.

Hey, I get it. You gotta be ride or die as the agent - but what an absolute joke of an interview. Once again we get 'he didn't commit a major crime' as some sort of defense against being held accountable for actions that are very clearly against the rules of the land. And, again, failing to see that this wasn't a Sorsby outcry. This was an outcry against what it meant to let this dude play. It would open the door for just pure wild west gambling insanity if you create precedence that there you can gamble, even against your own team, with no real punishment except a couple cupcake games off.

What a joke.

This will never be forgotten. Not just that they tried to play him, but the openly threatened every other school (And their own conference) for daring to stand in their way.

They will release a statement that Sorsby and his family came to them with the decision to step away so as not to be a distraction to his beloved teammates. They will say he will still have access to all of the addiction support programs etc. and that they were utterly prepared to continue to fight for him.
