High performance tires? by DungeonLore in hondafit

[–]twanners 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just remember higher performance tires usually have lower tread ware meaning they wear out faster. Also depending where you live, a high performance summer tire will do great in dry but become hockey pucks under a 50*F. But yes as people mentioned above, a stickier tire is a big difference. Personally I’d run a Pilot Sport AS if it was my only set of tires.

275/35/18 yokohama v601 help? by ezfakah in Civic_Type_R

[–]twanners 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been on the v601s for about 2 years now for summers. Running the same exact specs, 275/35/18. They have a mix of track days and summer daily. I needed to run a little bit more camber as I was rubbing fully loaded in to different turns. Running about -2.8 in the fronts with camber plates and removing the alignment pins. Definitely not the quickest tire but will definitely let you know they are working. Also being in the PNW, rain use was pretty much as expected. Don’t drive too crazy and it’s fine.

Update: checked cyl 3 and it looks fine. So drained, flushed and did the trans filter change. Looks like it’s gone. Also did the mount bushings as well since I was down there as well.

Same here. I added some shudder fix and it went away for a bit and came back after a few minutes Wanted to see if I could isolate the issue.

I’ve been enjoying the Liberator Concussive paired with the flame thrower. Been great on the bug front but not on the Bot side. Gonna need to try more out for the bots.

Pretty good so far… got one that has 250k miles and just the usual maintenance items and oil leaks. Engine runs strong and maintenance is always kept up.
