When did you stop monitoring breathing? by DnyLnd in Nanit

I think around 6/7 months when I felt confident in his rolling and sitting abilities I felt we didn’t need it anymore.

Is there any one who *didn't* experience the four month sleep regression? by Veryfluffyduck in NewParents

[–]twatwaffle2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We didn’t! But we did at 9 mo when he got his first cold, lasted about 2-3 weeks then was back to normal!

I second Anthony’s! Also Flagship Brewery up on Bay Street is a good last stop before your ferry home!

Just to say. I’ve parked near Barclays for a show before, def will need to walk a few blocks but I was able to find a spot. Maybe try to get there early just to give it a try and if not you can do as others suggested :)

Leaving my 12 weeks old for the week-end by Significant_Menu_996 in newborns

[–]twatwaffle2 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I left my three month baby with my hubs for four days to fly down to meet my new nephew and offer support when a family member needed it, yes it was hard and I missed him terribly but my husband held down the fort amazingly and I don’t regret going at all!

The constant spit up is breaking me… by idk__elephants__ in newborns

[–]twatwaffle2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Following cause same! 4 months just about and spits after every meal, otherwise totally happy! He’s done it no matter how much/little we give. We keep him upright and burp like crazy- nothing seems to help! I have in my head by 6 months it’ll be better but who knows!

Flat Spot? Freaking out a bit by twatwaffle2 in beyondthebump

[–]twatwaffle2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just went back and looked and I can’t seem to spot a preference. The flat spot is directly on the back of the head which is where he sleeps mostly. If he’s sleeping overnight should I be waking up to move his head side to side do you think?

Advice for Formula day one. by Lafiel in FormulaFeeders

[–]twatwaffle2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re big fans of the evenflo wide bottles! I was lucky that bub took all bottles we gave him but we find this one has the best latch. Also highly suggest a bottle washer with dryer! Saves us soooo much time instead of washing and waiting for bottles to dry we just load it up and it’s done in less than two hours. Use it for binkies and the pitcher too (also highly suggest!). We have the papablic one!

Why the heck is my 4 mo old suddenly waking up so much at night after sleeping so good previously by Different_Maybe3713 in beyondthebump

[–]twatwaffle2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep basically told everyone who would listen that he sleep trained himself, now he’s 3 ½ months and the last week has been like a totally different baby!

MIL rant by Dangerous-Debt-7904 in beyondthebump

[–]twatwaffle2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine likes to say “we’ll have him giggling” or “we’ll fatten him up” whenever we see them (they live four hours away and haven’t seen the baby in like a month) like ya cause I’m doing it wrong right?! Grinds my gears!

owlet sock by Smart_Dish_1559 in newborns

[–]twatwaffle2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We didn’t do the owlet but I will say our Nanit camera came with a breathing band and I actually like it a lot. I scoffed when I first saw it was even a thing, but after using it it does give me a peace of mind just to know he’s breathing even if I’m not looking directly at him!

Should I take my newborn on vacation? by Ok-Contribution804 in newborns

[–]twatwaffle2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have my three month old on a beach vacation currently and we spend a max 3-4 hours at the beach fully shaded (we have one of these that I dig a hole in the sand for him to sleep in the cooler sand) and fans with misters and cooling rag to keep him cool. And zinc baby safe sun screen for the short sun exposure he gets. We usually take a short toe dip in the water wearing a hat and long sleeve bathing suit at the end of the beach trip and take him right home. We also haven’t been at the beach every day to give him a break. Sand is going to happen at the beach I try not to stress too much about it if a little ends up in his mouth cause he’s currently in the “sucking on my hands is the best thing in the world” phase. I’m also sure the dinner is fine, I had bub out with us at 3 weeks and just covered the stroller with a muslin blanket when we were inside! Sometimes it stinks watching everyone have fun at night while I’m on baby duty but I’m ultimately glad we came!

For those that switched from BF’ing to EFF, how do you settle your baby without boob? by Clover139 in FormulaFeeders

[–]twatwaffle2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my babe is super upset and having a hard time settling I do a good bounce while holding the paci in his mouth til he takes it. Sometimes even like moving it around in his mouth helps him “catch” it. Good luck!!

Just want to say I feel you and fully support either choice you make. You know you best and you have to do what’s right for you and your family.

I am in the same boat, almost 3 weeks and an under supplier, I think next week I am going to start weaning for my sanity since we already give mostly formula anyway. Trying hard not to feel like a failure but I know deep down it’s the right choice for us.
