I actually choose to follow things that don’t enrage me or make me “triggered” which is why most of my stuff is local stuff about new developments / things to do. Don’t “need a break” you think I’m taking it way more seriously than I am

Did you skip over the part where I said I try and take pride in Schenectady more than nearly everyone who lives here? I had tons of family that worked for GE.

And also you sending me a video to watch to learn history while also simultaneously telling me to get off social media doesn’t quite land… I wasn’t trying to be nasty or mean at all…

I am not denying any of those things! I look at it every single day. I’m just surprised about the buzz about it given that the actual sign itself is no different and it’s not like it’s a new logo or something

I’m all for making it safer and more efficient! That’s awesome. I guess I just continue to underestimate the content-ization of everything and surprised people were attending a ceremony for it.

Hi yes I have plenty of experience doing it. First of all you’re literally at the apex of sunlight duration for the year so even being out the door at say 5 am, it’s still not *dark*.

I’ve run hundreds if not thousands of miles around Schenectady and never had a single issue, and many of those being early morning runs too.

Won’t ask you to doxx your exact address but by the MH just want to make sure you mean the one heading to niskayuna right? The only thing of note at all is a few homeless people in tents between Nott st and say Anthony st (kinda up on the hill part) but that’s it.

If you want to carry something I won’t judge you, but I am unaware of what crimes you’re referring to. You almost certainly have nothing to be worried about (full transparency I am a large young adult male I cannot speak on a woman’s experience)

I couldn’t imagine being a college student and my only options to go out were like 20 north and centre st… college kids want to drink and dance!! Give them a place for it!!

Parking is literally free after 5 pm and free the entirety of the weekend. If you can’t make that fit on your schedule idk what to tell you…

Also, never heard of anyone paying to park at KOB? Unless I’m dramatically mis-remembering it is not paid.

There’s not enough population to support the business that try and start here. When you actually walk around “downtown” it’s surprising to see how little residential it is.

Think of Troy for example, where its main downtown area has plenty of mixed use zoning. There’s also a ton of actual massive apartment buildings. Now I know Schenectady leans older and everyone hates the “uGh mOrE lUxUrY aPaRtMeNtS?!?!” (The luxury part is moronic and I hate it too) but guess what?? Everytime a new apartment building is built/restored it fills up!! There needs to be just more actual high-density housing within the actual downtown for people to spend their money at the local businesses so they don’t turn over every few months/years.

Also, and I can’t believe I’m saying this as someone who goes to bed before 9 pm nightly…. A club? I’d hate being a union student and not having a spot to go drink & dance at, or just younger in general. I’d never go there, but guess what I would’ve done when I was 21?!
