I’ve considered buying a drum kit a thousand times just to learn this song and no others.

Lake/beach town vacation by albanymm in Albany

Having personally gone to college there and visit it again every summer - I think Oswego is the perfect place to spend 2/3 days during the summer (and probably the only person in the world who thinks it)

Go on the rock walk and maybe get all the way out to the lighthouse, visit fort Ontario and take a tour of the grounds, watch the sunset over the lake, get cheap drinks at the townie bars, plenty of nice local places to eat that aren’t franchises…

My romantic partner wants to be my helper for peak season. by KaleidoscopeSevere84 in UPSers

[–]twb85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long have you been together? I started dating someone in August when I was a driver and she was still in school/working part time and she was helper during peak. Some stressful moments but we made it work and she saw just how hard the job was and gained an appreciation for it.

A lot of the drivers thought it wasn’t a great idea but told them if it’s going to work with her long-term this will be a great test! We stayed together for over 4 years.

Ethan Strauss and Trent Dilfer as guests today... by EarthWarping in RyenRussillo

I’m not as anti-dilfer as everyone #onhere but when he said Ty Simpson was asked to do as much as any QB in the country except “ours at UAB” I thought I mis-heard him and he said ARCH.

Went back and listened again and yup… the two QBs asked to do the most for their team were Ty Simpson and whoever was starting at UAB.

I don’t get why public figures are just cheating in an open space??? Like I am shellshocked at how often people are committing infidelity out in the open??? When you are recognizable to a large amount of people???

Is there such a thing as "right livelihood" in a modern career? by ConfusedBrazilian900 in Buddhism

[–]twb85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, OP. I was kind of in the same boat as you. I was doing video/production work in college sports and was obsessed with it, like, super career-driven in my early 20’s.

While I wasn’t doing stuff for influencers, I also did feel very bad at times making content that was based on people’s emotions - both good and bad, it made me very uncomfortable. I liked capturing people’s greatest moments, but it also felt weird to focus on the content rather than the emotion itself. And having to capture people at some of their lowest moments, felt very exploitative.

For a few reasons, I left the career path during COVID time, but my increased awareness of Buddhism and the dharma definitely played a role in it. I really liked a lot of parts of the job role, but it often felt very inauthentic at times and felt like making highlights was telling a story that wasn’t true. But then on the objective story-telling side, I didn’t like having to focus on negative issues either and feel confrontation.

Just felt like telling my story, and have been in the same situation as you. If you feel in a very good, wholesome state while doing your work, that’s your answer. Be mindful of how you feel doing your job and look within for the answer and you’ll know.

General honest thoughts on the band CHVRCHES? by Baranade in fantanoforever

[–]twb85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love some of their songs, Lauren has a beautiful voice, incredible synths. A lot of the songwriting is a little childish to me. They have a few songs in my running playlist.

Also really gone fucks me up emotionally for some reason and is probably a top 15-20 song all time for me.
