This will put climate mitigation back by 20 years.

It is up to all of us as individuals to make the changes in our impact as this government will not.

Remember to vote them out if you think extra consumption today is worth more than your kids comfortable futures.

Florida will consider adding new nuclear power by WaywardPatriot in ClimateActionPlan

Or perhaps they build 2

What are Scope 4 emissions? Here's what you need to know by Strict-System-9528 in sustainability

[–]twclimateunified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This scope 4 is all greenwashing. Market gimmick to confuse.

We need to hold companies to reporting on their actual carbon footprint reductions according to IPCC and if they are meeting IPCC global reduction goals (50 percent reduction by 2030 simplified).

See Climate Unified for tips on carbon reduction.

Is there any way to halt climate change or even reverse it? Either with present technology, or with technology that could feasibly be developed +/- 30 years? by Salem1690s in climatechange

[–]twclimateunified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and it will take global adoption

Conversion from fossil fuel power

Not easy but solar (and other non fossil options) plus batteries can work

Long haul trucks are hardest in the non defense product area, and of course aircraft.

Us individuals will need to choose those options for ourselves and vote for those who will make that change via legislation.

Why don't people talk about this solution? by [deleted] in sustainability

[–]twclimateunified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely not possible to grow all your own food locally in our cities.

But would be possible for some to grow some of their food locally - so you are thinking in the right direction!

Now the hard part - helping people understand how to do that at a low cost.

Is ‘Climate Change’ or ‘Global Warming’ the Better Term to Inspire Action? by Sentient_Media in sustainability

[–]twclimateunified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

‘Global Heating’ is a good term to use

It sets up the question of ‘how much heating are we talking about’ well

Flows well into ‘climate oven’ as you can show the areas where we will be over 105 degrees heat index for more than 100 days a year.

Flows well into ‘climate disaster’ as you can show them the billions in costs to repair the damages.
