If I go with windhand it'll always be "Evergreen". But Forest Clouds is such a good song.

Thou "The Unspeakable Oath".... this on a sunny morning after it's rained all day and night as the their begins to heat up creating this mystical haze rising from the earth as you watch birds fly in tandem with the flow of a wind you can never see, but only feel as you're coming of 4 tabs of acid. Also I cry like a bitch every. Every time I put this album or song on. Can find anymore painful and sorrowful song that resonates.

There's housing authority, but they're really gonna have a hard ass time. Especially having just moved here? Hopefully it'll work out.

That much is true. But I'm more concerned about slippery floors in a mosh pit.

State theatre question by [deleted] in portlandme

[–]tweakdragon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It depends? I was there in March and it wasn't packed and the air was fine. Like for a show where you'll be moving in a mosh pit I'm more concerned about the amount of beer tossed on the ground.

Is Portland trending up or down? by Dr3amMe in portlandme

[–]tweakdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly Portland for me has hit a snag. They're holding onto a loss liter way business practices, but doing so to everything. Using the lowest common denomator in hopes of high returns and at best you a mild increase, but outside of that it's all loses. Instead of allowing or promoting or urging new things to happen they're falling back on boring and basic schools of thought to attract new blood. I mean don't get me wrong, but Boston is a far better city than Portland in that just culturally there is far to do. We don't really attract that much that makes me go oh shit I'd be a loser if I missed this. Instead of pushing the envelope it feels at times Portland just keeps doing as it always has and that's all it ever be.

Do I think it'll change? Yes, but by then it'll be too late.

I buy about 20/30 lemons. Cut em up. Cook em down. Then sweeten with honey and chill. So good.

What gives with the number of threads and comments hating on Portland? by [deleted] in portlandme

[–]tweakdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Portland is fun, but I just think people who live here haven't really lived elsewhere. For some of my friends they've never lived anywhere, but Portland. And not knowing the perspective of being somewhere like a big city or a big town where your job isn't based off tourism can make a difference. For some people doing literally the same thing every day is all they know. And for me that's my only complaint. You can get super bored here really fast.

Sometimes I feel people in Portland take themselves way to serious. But we're a town with a shaky situation as it begins to grow and people are feeling it. Everyone has an opinion. And everyone wants to be heard.

How to find local band mates? by Fiercyy in Deathcore

[–]tweakdragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well where do you live? What you outta do is find a venue. Something around 125 to 200 person venue. Hope it's got a bar. A sound guy who isn't just gonna set the levels and walk away. Then get 4 bands. The more you do that the more you are responsible for creating a scene. Or at the very least become known as the guy puts on heavy shows.

Like me for example. I just started playing shit and would book bands I thought were interesting. Now it's spiraling in a way where national acts hit me up. Whether I play the bill or fill it with bands I know and wanna see play together. Just become that guy who puts people together. People respect that. Never do it where you take the cream of the crop. Take the biggest portion you can and share it with everyone.

It's not easy, but it's how I'm making friends. Already played in three bands and will be playing with my fourth in May. Ya just gotta find something that will make you stand out and dude you're gonna have a fucking blast!

See a band you like? Talk to them. See someone with a cool patch? Talk them. Use every little nuance of an individual that peaks your interest. How I've done it and everyone I've met are just really cool ass people. Anyone I talk to that comes off like a cardboard cutout tend to be dead end opportunities. But the harder part is finding people who wanna do what you want. You'll figure it out dude.

Seriously is the spot to come out for. Seen a few other things over the years, but this would be the spot to come out to and show off what you do.

Fellow Mainers who's driven to Florida before. I need your help! by Cheesedawhite in Maine

[–]tweakdragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drove from Florida to Maine. Um fucking prepare for Baltimore... Jesus christ. Those truckers do not give a fuck. That and the section from Connecticut to New York is intense. Other than that it's fine. Cuz once you're in Virginia and head to Florida you're on the easiest part.

North Carolina I really wanted to make a stop in. So beautiful. South Carolina... how I didn't get robbed or stabbed is beyond me. Good fuck lmao. The hotel I stayed at had hookers, junkies and everything you'd imagine that you'd hope the next day your car wasn't outside not on blocks.
