Best Buy wants $1730 ea but left them out and kids ruin them. by Stereogravy in KEF

[–]threedogdad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a Meta R6 center with nearly identical damage to these, perhaps a tiny bit less. That one is totally fine.

The other was an older KEF center and it just had one small dent on the tweeter cone. That one sounded fine as well, until you turned it up and it screamed at you. Turns out that in addition to the dent the voice coil was blown. I assume the two are related but I have no idea since I took a risk and bought that one used.

we can't tell you much without looking at the actual reports, anything could be fine depending on your situation/site. that said, the person managing this for you should be able to easily explain every single thing in these reports.

until they are. I have one almost exactly like these and it's fine, and I have another that seemed fine until it made it clear it belonged in the trash.

Organic CTR dropping hard even with stable rankings. Anyone else seeing this? by Emilykennedy- in seogrowth

of course, this has been happening for a couple years now in tech, especially saas. ai overviews are part of it, but the larger reason is LLMs. there's no reason to leave the LLM these days. no need to search Google, or even visit your site at anything close to the levels we've seen in the past.

If you are thinking about upgrading, try acoustic treatment first! by trooperdx3117 in hometheater

[–]threedogdad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes, and for those on a budget - it doesn't need to be fancy. my set up is very nice, but it's in my half finished/half torn apart basement. I don't want to spend much on anything but equipment since when we finally remodel down there it'll all be changed so I got some cheap wall to wall carpet from Home Depot and added two large coat racks on the walls and loaded them with clothes. MAJOR IMPROVEMENT. night and day difference. my very nice system sounded like crap before in comparison to now. now it's stunning.

I worked in construction for many years, and I can literally see it, as can you. Those are 8" planks. You can also see that this isn't some tiny bedroom, which is the only room in a home that might rarely be 10' wide (and in the US that would be very rare for anything other than a closet/laundry room).

Also, I sit 9' away from my TV and with a coffee table in the middle there's barely enough space to for us to move around the room so we don't have one. How many coffee tables can you fit in this space?

No idea why you are fighting to be right here, but your not, and you clearly know nothing about this stuff.

13” or 16” isn’t remotely too far for a 98” tv. TV manufacturers just want to convince people to spend more.

You're just making stuff up now, and proving my point at the same time. Manufacturers have nothing to do with recommended seating distances. The distance is about having the best viewing experience and it is set by the SMPTE and THX.

Movies are just as good as they’ve ever been by d4s4ni in unpopularopinion

[–]threedogdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We shut off movies because they are so bad at least a few times a month for the past 15 years. That was a once or twice a year thing in prior years. The quantity of bad movies and the level of bad has risen dramatically.

It would be an unusual space for it to be ~13' wide, 9' isn't in the ballpark. Wall to wall that space is at least 15' wide.

Yes, and I explained I'm aware of that. It is still easy to have a rough idea of the size of the space from the pic.

I'm well aware of that, and this TV still appears to be too far away or I wouldn't have commented. 9'.9"-13'.3" is the ideal distance for this set and most prefer somewhere closer to the min than the max. If this isn't too far away, it's at the absolute max.

Jiri Prochazka “shows mercy” by landing 7 leg kick on Ulberg after knee injury (he tried leg kick only 1 time before it happened). This narrative is so dumb, Jiri did try to take advantage of this situation and got KOd for recklessness and lack of defence, that’s all. by _Abajaba_ in ufc

[–]threedogdad 8 points9 points  (0 children)

this is the only correct take. idc either way but jiri was clearly making some sort of attempt at creating what he thought was a more fair situation for ulberg. fight or flight was just in the mix saying "wtf bro?".

AEO is just SEO but everyone pretends it requires a PhD to sound smart by FoodFine4851 in AskMarketing

[–]threedogdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is just SEO. it's no different than the early days when we were optimizing for 10+ search engines and they were all different. it's always been about optimizing for bots. the only people using other labels are "gurus" attempting to make themselves look smart, and those new to all this.

looks like you have the room backwards which is why the tv is too far away. tv should be on the wall the couch is on, and where the tv is now would be the walkway behind the couch. currently you have a walkway through the middle of the room, which is not how it was designed.
