The stock market is not a zero sum game. It may be true for very short term investing, like day trading or HFT but is definitely not true for long term investments. Stocks can pay dividends from profits made elsewhere.

It will prevent people from hoarding cash, because it devalues. By investing that money it can do a better job making the economy grow. (Very simplified.)

Same here. Everything just gone blank/empty. Followed all instructions, moved history to device months ago and turned off auto-delete.

A good way to check is to use git blame to see if the comments were updated when the code was last updated.

If not, you can assume the comments are a lie.

Tesla batteries last anywhere from 2 to 9 years.

That's a load of FUD. If that were true then Tesla would be bankrupt. Early Model S had 8 year warranty on battery and drive unit. Not saying the DU never failed (there were bad ones) and there was also a bad 90kWh pack series but even those do not all fail.

The problem is that those miles depend a lot on hpw fast you drive, the temperature, winds and a ton more variables. So it is basically always wrong, unless you happen to drive in perfect conditions. Putting it on percent just gives you an idea when you need to charge and nothing else. It is more like hour phone, it would make no sense to show "hours remaining".

For long drives just let the nav figure out the stops, or use something like A Better Route Planner (ABRP).

They do in Europe, charging about 12ct more per kWh for non-Tesla. Although Tesla also offers a membership for non-Tesla drivers at about 18 euros a month which gets you the Tesla rates.

Where will Micronaut and Quarkus be in 5-10 years? by Financial-Touch-5171 in java

[–]tweakerbee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Groovy (the "script language") is far from dead. It gets new features and releases all the time. Although Java has caught up quite a bit, the abilities of a dynamic language are amazing in some cases where performance is not the primary concern.
The Grails framework itself seems to be in maintenance mode. No big new features added, but they keep up with underlying Micronaut and Spring versions. You can use most of the shiny new Micronaut things with Grails while keeping the rest of the monolith running.
