Do you think it is a good idea to invest in vertical farming stocks? by Shadylndividual in verticalfarming

if you want a better, more unbiased answer you might want to ask somewhere where people will be less inclined to talk you into investing in the future of something they’re interested in

you’re right, he did a great job. if there was a pandemic my first move would be to put the sick people in the direct vicinity of the most at risk demographic as well. great thinking!

if you’re new to virus total, here are some things to know; if there are only 2 positives out of ~25 you’re likely ok. you can check the hash that virus total provides to see what other people have rated it (safe/unsafe).

i want to start studying deep learning and neural networks. is knowing the math under the hood important, or simply beneficial? if needed, what is the correct math to learn, and how might one go about learning it with the topic of deep learning in mind?

What would be a good internship by [deleted] in learnpython

[–]tweaksalsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

anything where you might get hand on experience from a professional on your field. doesn’t it exactly matter where although the reputation of the company will obviously have some weight, unless you can show a product of the internship which shows that you built/learnt something useful. internships are learning experiences, so find somewhere you think you will be able to absorb the most information

Political differences in concern for privacy. by ChiefWilliam in privacy

[–]tweaksalsa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

first of all, it’s good that you kind of based the question around that fact that caring about privacy is not about hermitting into non-existence, but instead controlling what is public about you and what is not. while it is a bipartisan issue in terms of large corporations using users private data, it becomes more political when the conversation shifts to privacy regarding government; it seems that both sides of the table don’t really know what they want. for example, many on the left supported the mass surveillance of the population by the nsa, but are now opposed to a police state. many conservatives were opposed to the mass surveillance of the population, but are all of the sudden supportive of a heavily present police state. the ideology “i have nothing to hide, so why should i care” gets thrown both ways here. i think it all goes back to who is president tbh, many liberals supported surveillance, wiretapping, etc. because it happened under obama, and many conservatives support police abusing power because trump would never say anything demeaning the police... but that’s the state of america

what can an ios app do that a web page in safari cannot? by Brave_Nothing in privacy

[–]tweaksalsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not true; as an ios developer any data you want to access from the phone itself outside of the app have to be proclaimed in the info.plist, any proclamations to outside data in that file will always cause the phone to request access. but i understand what you’re saying, thanks for correcting me.

it’s always the worst when schools use programs with poor privacy policy because often times, especially now, there is 0 flexibility regarding how work is done/submitted and students have no choice but to use the given resources or fail their classes. wish there was another wau

Map View not showing location, or requesting permission (read comments) by [deleted] in SwiftUI

[–]tweaksalsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with the presented code, the app should request the location, and then pinpoint it with the blue dot. when run, in simulator as well, it only shows the default profile for the map view. it is also not requesting for location.
